Why do they bury politicians 8ft down and normal people only 6ft down?

I thought politicians only lied when they handed in their expenses.
A little girl asked her father, 'do all fairy tales begin with "Once upon a time"?
The father replied, 'No, some begin with - If I am elected.'
I always think thats a little unfair, after all they didnt lie, I dont think a single politician lied on their expenses claims, they just claimed for things they shouldnt have and the claims were paid or rejected as necessary.
But then, when you have a system where they dictate the pay rises of other public sector jobs, and try to keep them as low as possible whilst also voting themselves much bigger rises, its hardly suprising they claimed for so many things.
