Finally got around to trying to install Generals on my XP partition. Didn't work! The install program just crashed out.

So I've started my upgrade plan early and installed a new copy of 7 from fresh, hopefully Generals will behave under this OS...

i had absolutly no issue getting it to work out of the box under windows 7. did you patch to version 1.04?

This answer intrigues me, I'm going to investigate. I've patched so many games in the last two days I'm not sure what version of anything I'm on!

I'll be getting my pc up and running (and imaged!) soon so I will have all the stuff needed for the LAN and a backup in case it goes boobies up

Well it's up and running with windows 7 64 bit professional, I just need to sort out hard drives as I have over 1tb of stuff on odd drives no longer in the machine lol

Will probably take my laptop just in case my pc goes fubar lol, can handle it's own fairly well
