And yeah, it is pretty obvious that Destiny is headed into a sun to re-charge up using solar power (or whatever).

I've got to admit, when Destiny was flying through the upper atmosphere of the gas giant, all I could think about was an episode of ST: Next Generation where they need to use the deflector as a Bussard ramscoop to collect hydrogen to use as a fuel. Why does my mind feel the need to keep this stuff?

Sorry new to the forums and stumbled across this while poking around

I like SG:U, i agree the flash backs in the first episode were really annoying and im glad they've gone but i like how they haven't had everything handed to them on a plate, such as when they went to Atlantis they took a lot of stuff with them, now they're having to struggle for basic needs at the same time as exploring the ship.

I'd like to think that the story hasn't properly started yet and we are still being introduced to the various characters and their nuances.

A few more episodes and I fully expect it to ramp up nicely.

I'd like to put forward that the little trend we have started in our community of friends for SGU or should I say SGC...

We call it Stargate Carlyle as it makes more sense to what the show is about right now (and a true homage to the legend that is Robby C!)

It's been a bit slow starting I will agree, however the potential is there for it to really take off in a number of directions. Kind of just feels like Lost, in space right now. (And no, not Lost in Space! If Matt Le Blanc was cast, none of us would be watching it...)

Who didn't see that coming (the ship flying towards / into the star to "recharge")? Pretty cool though and the show definitely is more dramatic than the previous Stargate series.

Oh look surprise suprise. The Destiny re-fuelled - as we (and half of the world) correctly guessed.

What if that ship we saw eariler was a advance sun finder thingy ma jiggy? You know, the ship was saying I'm running out of power, go find a star to re-fuel..?

I think Rush did know, but not sure why he would keep it from them - maybe he wasn't sure 100% it would refuel, and decided to give everyone the best chance? Either way he is starting to get a little annoying now.

Props to "Math Boy" for figuring out the correct trajectory.

On a side not, I'm sure the SG:U sound team is trying to kill my woofer. The thing was practically doing flips in the air!

I thought they were locked out of the main systems - so how did they gain access to the communication systems so quickly?

I felt sorry for Eli when Chloe was making out with Lt Scott(he was making out with another lady too) although she wants his emotional support. I hope this does turn into some angst ridden version of 90210 in space!!

The only characters which I seem to actually like are Rush,Greer and Telford. The others are just annoying ATM!!

At least the music is decent and reminds of Vangelis for some reason!!
