They've fixed the dx9 oversight that prevented NWN2 from working without some jiggery-pokery apparently. But I'm waiting till the weekend to install so I have time to backup etc.
Anyone had a delivery from Amazon yet per chance? My order is still at their warehouse.
I'm Amazon...Nada so far. I rang them though (for another query) and they told me posting tomorrow for delivery on release day.

I have to say, I was on the MS website yesterday looking at their W7 material, and it made me in no way excited. In fact, I'd say I got bored.
Irrespective of whether it's any good or not, I still don't think MS knows how to market stuff.
I expect I'll get it because although I use Linux everywhere, it's nice to have a Windows PC for testing, and the XP VM would be handy too.

They're in an odd position - the key value to them is in marketing the brand almost, so that when you go to a shop to buy your computer you make sure it comes with Windows 7. Direct sales aren't going to make up the majority of their revenue, and these are made up of a fairly different demographic to the average computer user I'd expect.Originally Posted by Steve

A good point. Look at Intel's marketing. Historically, if it didn't have an "Intel Inside" people weren't interested.
Now if you get sold a PC with Linux on it by accident, would you complain that it isn't Windows? Not sure you would, you'd probably just take it back thinking there was something wrong with it... or that Windows 7 was a bit weird.

Mine is with Amazon, coming by HDNL so it should come on time. Hopefully they will deliver it to my door. The lesser of two evils.
I'm going to excitedly install it then realise the only difference is the missing "Evaluation copy" text in the corner, then I'll get back to gormless web browsing.
