As an owner of the disc version I'd say go for the Steam one. Seriously, it's a small nightmare trying to get it all installed and patched up from the discs and you end up downloading almost as much in patches anyway.

not quite admitting my fail then eh Rasta?
seems that Steam's system is just far superior to discs.

    Anyway..
I have BF2 but not sure which expansions I have to got with it, will check tonight when I get in.
Yes, patching and updating BF2 is a proper pain in backside and is very annoying.

I will need to format before the next LAN, we got any dates yet?, I think March was mentioned..
A nice clean install is always good , may also treat myself to an SSD because, well I deserve it.

Was half tempted to build myself a small "LAN" rig, but I cant really justify spending money on something I may only use once in a while.

if those bloody Zotac m-itx boards had s3 from usb when i was buying my media pc id only need to pop a graphics card into that to make it a LAN comp. ended up getting a board with only a pci slot, and a case that a card wouldnt fit into anyway. stupid zotac :|

you only need the plain vanilla version for the lans. the 1.50 patch includes the euro force and armoured fury patches anyway.

I think my SG03 is about as small as I want to get with my rig. It's portable and still is more than powerful for gaming. It's also quiet. The only downside at the moment is the heat the graphics card produces, so the system temps are usually higher than the CPU temps! The H5O is more than capable of keeping the i5 cool.
