    Re: Nitro RC Cars

I would check availability of spares for each model, I know the Fazer has a lot of spare parts around and it's a pretty decent model. I can't really say much about the others.

The last link didn't work by the way.

    http://www.msuk-forum.co.uk is a good forum.
As for a starting car, HPI Bullet, HPI Firestorm 10T, the Firestorm's probably the best choice in my opinion unless you're after a road car then I don't reall know, probably the HPI RS4.

Edit, also check out the HoBao Hyper 7.

Hmm looks like they removed it as it doesnt work for me now.

It was basically after checking again, the same as GS Racing link, but had a different shell on it.

Any particular reason you suggest the HPI RS4 as the road car or is just personal preference?

    Thanks for the feedback

    Re: Nitro RC Cars

The RS4 is the only road car I've tried but I know a few people that have them and they're all very happy with it. Spare parts seem to be in abundance, it has the same engine as my Rush too, very easy to tune and maintain.

I'll try and get some video footage of mine running out in the field when the rain decides to stop.

    Re: Nitro RC Cars

Didn't have time to get out on the field so I couldn't do any full speed runs but I can get about 45mph+ out of it.

Just a quick bash in my garden pulling donuts - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eWHT-ucnJ1A
Shot in 1080p, not sure how long it takes for it to be processed.

    Cheers for the video.

As soon as I get the pennies im getting the HPI RS4!

And I may even do all the engine break in stuff before I thrash the crap out of it

Edit - What type of range do these have signal/ controller wise?

Not sure exactly, around 200 feet or so. Make sure you get yourself a failsafe, It will put the brakes on if the transmitter goes out of range.

You'll also want a glow plug igniter, charger, glow plug wrench, after run oil, air filter oil, blue thread lock and a fuel bottle. You can get most of that in one of those "nitro starter kits".

    One of them?^

What is the blue thread lock?

Edit - Just done a quick basket check and if I have all the stuff mentioned, I am looking at about £260 - £270

    Re: Nitro RC Cars

Yeah, you might be able to find all these bits elsewhere for cheaper.
Blue thread lock is a medium strength thread lock, basically a solution you put on screws before you screw them in, it will stop them vibrating loose.

Just found a useful page for the RS4 - http://www.rcuniverse.com/magazine/a...article_id=597

    Re: Nitro RC Cars

i have a rex x nitro buggy, solid stuff but was involved in a collision when the fail safe failed (ironic...) and it smacked into a wall at very high speed! managed to repair the chassis but havent got worund to sorting steering, they are fast and solid cars though, survived a hell of alot before that!.

Got a kyosho something at the minute, its been sat in the garage for 2 or 3 years waiting to be used (just run it in and thats it) got time this summer so should be picking it up again, goes like a bullet and ill find out the model when i get chance but they are good cars too. Cost me £100 i think brand new (was the latest model just released when i bought one, haggling ftw) with loads of stuff.

edit: think this is the correct rex x http://www.modelsport.co.uk/index.php?product_id=22758 mines quite old and bought second hand so cant really tell!.
