I've done as much Christmas shopping as is going to get done.
I've done as much Christmas shopping as is going to get done.
I'm not doing any.
I'm having a year off, been intending to for the last few xmases but usually weaken. Sticking to it this time, barring a round of cards & greetings, that's my lot. No-one will be much the worse off for lack of a bit more festive giftware; and there's nothing I really want (that you can buy with money).
I've finished...
my gf has done all mine
I think I'm pretty much done... family is all sorted and the BF and his son too. (it's very difficult not to spoil a small at xmas...)
To be honest, after the year I've had I'm tempted to cancel Christmas and hide away, unfortunately I'm a lodger in someone's house so it might not even be possible to do that....

This is bunny and friends. He is fed up waiting for everyone to help him out, and decided to help himself instead!
Haven't started yet. Have too much to do this weekend. Aiming for Tuesday or Wednesday evening maybe just get it all over and done with!
Did a massive shop on the internet this year, had boxes appearing at the door fairly routinely for the last fortnight or so. Typically half the shops decided to print their names on the delivery boxes/bags in massive print just to ensure that it would be less of a surprise for my girlfriend, but there you go.
On the plus side, it was a fairly easy time - I'd much rather pay 3-4 quid than muck around on the high street, especially when they never have what you want in stock. The only downside was when I discovered that Next are a bunch of vicious scammers, but there you go.
Mostly done. Actually did most of it over the internet whilst I was in India last week. Actually, if I am truthful the wife did.
The only problem is the wifey- I think she will be getting something shiney and ring shaped as she produced an heir and its our 5 year anniversary coming up. The bank balance will not be happy...
Not around too often!
Welcome to my world.
Whilst purchasing presents for people isn't the worst thing (although its a laborious task - See Dr Sheldon Cooper from the Big Bang Theory for the rest of the reason!), what I want to know is - what is the point of Christmas Cards??!
Do people really still send masses of these?!
It look's like the rest of my shopping is going to be put on hiatus for the time being as I might be moving house next week FINALLY !!!!
There is going to be loads that needs to be bought for the house so I may have to scale back on presents for people this year. I feel a right tight-arse for doing this, but getting this house turned into a home is my main priority
As for christmas cards - I've never sent Christmas cards.
I can't see the point of chopping down trees to be turned into something that is put on the wall for 3-4 weeks and then thrown in the bin. Same thing applies to wrapping paper. Yes we can recycle the paper, but think of the excess energy used to recycle these and the carbon footprint they involve.
To be fair, with my family coming from the north, my grandparents have time and time again proved that there's no energy required to recycle wrapping paper.
Granddad: "I hope you're excited, took us ages to find this for you!"
Grandma: "No, stop! It's not that exciting!"
...
Granddad: "You're going to tear the paper if you aren't careful."
