    Re: H3XU5.LAN #6 - 5/6/7 March 2010 - Uttoxeter

Okay, looks like I can get to Uttoxeter train station for 8pm - if they'll let me leave work early on Friday... hopefully they will... although even then it will be a bit of a push.

The journey looked fine on the National Rail website - until they decided that 4 minutes would be ample to get from Euston underground to Euston overground, and onto the train for Stoke

Then I'd probably have to get the 5:03 train back again on the Sunday to make sure I don't get stuck in London and miss the last train home.

Does that sound reasonable? I'm going to be at least an hour late and have to leave a bit before it's scheduled to finish but I'm guessing that won't be a big deal?

The train journey adds an extra 70 miles

well at the last LAN, madduck picked me up just after 6:30 and we got there around 8pm ish for a 5pm start. so i think its just the actual 'being there' that counts

i think we were all packed up by 4pm ish for the 5pm finish on sunday aswell.

cant remember exactly, but they sound about right

    Come again?

Cheers, looks like that should be okay then. Turns out National Rail was wrong as well, so the journey isn't actually that bad. For some reason it thinks the tube takes 40 minutes to get from Vauxhall to Euston, when it's actually 12 minutes according to the Transport for London website.

I'll discuss it with my girlfriend when she gets back, hopefully I can book everything tomorrow

Timing wise it doesnt really matter what time you get there, people arrive all throughout the late afternoon/early evening.

Usually I don't set off from mine until 5/6 and its a 3+ hour trip for me with traffic.

Great, that's what I wanted to know

Had these visions of being stuck there for hours waiting until some damn train turned up

Would be fine, but seeing as you've got to book for a specific train it's anything but flexible. I'll make it a bit earlier then, dependent on how they're running... maybe 3ish or something.

Anyone know if we're allowed to bring 2 or 3 PC's to this?

I can host some servers and such on another one... L4D2 server and UT99 server I'm thinking! FTP too, of course...
