i'm 40, and am part of an IT & telephony support team for 2 call centres. unfortunaltely the rest of the team are based at the other centre, so i do just about everything at the one i work at.
usual sort of stuff, even tho i have a specific job description detailing what i'm meant to do, just about any issues with anything that has a plug gets referred to me
my dad, he died 20 years ago. he was (a) a shift supervisor at a metalising plant (in layman's terms, where the raw materials for tin foil and xmas decorations are made) and (b) an alcoholic, hence being dead
if it ain't broke...fix it till it is
I'm 34 and work as an IT consultant in the telco sector for a big IT company. My dad worked as a delivery boy / runner for one of his relatives as a lad, was in the Army for a short while (signals if I remember correctly) as a young man and was a spark (electrician) for most of the rest of his life. As you can probably tell from the past tense he's brown bread - died a few years ago unfortunately. Gone but not forgotten... RIP
In 3 months Graduate software developer with Bsc (honours) (hopefully with a high level which is looking like that atm) with a respectable amount of experience already under my belt working for the name in software development working on a high profile project among other things.
Old man's a civil engineer in water treatment, specialising in the international law, spend most of the past few years in the Middle East, Jordan, UAE etc.
34 year old father of one, IT Manager for UK's largest brushware manufacturer, likes Mk3 Cavaliers, PC's, KFM.
Dad: Physicist, 48, bumming around at the moment, but used to be a research director for the OECD
Me: Physicist-in-training, 20, uni

I don't know what his title is these days, but my dad works for Baker Hughes (an oil and drilling services company) and is currently overseeing the merger of the seperate devisions into a single monolithic company in Europe and Africa regins.
I am the head of platform support for the UK arm of a global online advertising agency.
My father was a university lecturer up until retirement. Now he just lectures.

Apparently I look about 5 years younger than I am, thats when I shave tho which, being lazy isnt very often atm..
