its pretty natural tho, i am the same with my brother, if someone messes with him, they mess with me, nowt a few sharp words wont fix.. altho my bro looks a lot older then he is, so usually gets hassle from older kids, saying kids here, but he's 17... but its always been the same, the elders look out for the younguns, nowt wrong with that..

    Well done, but be careful.....

Political correctness is just around the corner....you could find yourself in your local nick for doing that sort of thing.......

Remember in these days just touch someone (no not like Michael Jackson) is enough to land you on a conmmon assault charge..

I'd probably do the same and although i'd never actually hurt someone intentionally (unless they'd done something very serious), i'd happily stick up for my sister!

Just got to remember theres a fine line between self defence and pointless agressiveness (see townies/chavs/kevs for details).

There's a very thin line between protecting your sister and unduly threatenting (bullying) some 12 year old girls, especially when you do not know the entire story, or were fed the story from someone who isn't exactly impartial.

If on the other hand your sister is more innocent than the Virgin Mary and these other girls are trouble makers known to social services and the police then sock it to them.

Is the fact that you need reassurance not an indication of whether it was right or wrong? just a thought.

Not really...I don't think he wants re-assurance, I just think he wants us to post opinion on a situation like that more than anything

I think it's increasing hard to be sure what's right and wrong anymore (deep huh?)

    In the:
1940's he probably could've got away with beating her with a belt
1970's he probably could've got away with smacking her on the bottom
1980's he probably could've got away with a very good verbal assault
1990's he probably could've got away with suggusing in a polite
manner that she sound disist from this anti-social behaiour
2000's he probably could've got away with not being arrested by the
police for Haressment, child abuse and breach of the piece.

You could have just accidentally bounced her off the bonnet

But seriously I would do same thing, even if it doesn't help, next time something happens there is no way that kid can not think (and worry) about what you said.
