    Heh nids

The infinite amount of troops that the Imperium can muster will be thrown his nids in a relentless wave until eventually, they are but a pulp on the battlefield! Might of the Imperium and all that.

Oh and just took my first call..only been here two hours!

There must be something you can do work-wise? You seem so inventive and must have an idea or two about improving things for your employer (and you!).

Planning in advance is the key.

I do feel your pain though as when i've forgotten to take stuff a flight to the US can seem to take forever. (At least i have the advatage of having people to talk to, but the you've got us!)

^^This would be right, if only we had the access and such to actually do things. We have to run everything we want to do, that isn't the norm by our manager through him first. Also, we have two Service Desks and I am working on a desk I have only worked on in bits, for a total of about two months.

But just had a nice wifi related call in which it seems either an entire site or certain AP's are down so I have some chasing to do..if I can just find the information I need.

    Re: 9 hours of work

So I got bored and started to plan my Imperial Guard/ Cadian Army. I quickly realised that 500 points wouldn't get my anything resembling an army so that idea went out of the window.

For those that are interested, it breaks down as follows.

    HQ

    1 Commander
    4 Veterans + 1 with Regimental standard

    Total 65 Points

    Elites

    Ogryan Squad
    1 Ogryn Bone 'ead
    9 Ogryn's

    Total 310 Points

    Storm Troopers (<3)

    1 Sergeant
    9 Troopers

    Total 165 points

    Troops

    Platoon Command Squad
    1 Commander
    4 Guardsmen

    Total 30 points

    Infantry Squad x 3

Each squad contains 1 Sergeant and 9 Guardsmen

    Total 150 Points

Heavy Weapons Squad (They got big guns!)

    3 x Heavy Weapon teams

    1 with Autocannon
    1 with Lascannon
    1 with Missle Launcher

    Total 90 points

    Transports

    2 x Chimera's
    with Unter Killer Missles

    Total 130 Points

    Fast Attack

    Armoured Sentinel Squadron

    3 x Sentinels (walker things)

    1 with Lascannon
All three with Smoke Launchers (Can't see me, heheheh)

    Total 200 points

Valkyrie Assault Carried (Flying, also double up as Troop transports)

    3 x Valkyrie Aircraft
    3 x multi rocket pods
    3 x heavy bolters

    Total 410 points

This totals to around 1860 points

N.B - I haven't included heavy support tanks as there are laods of variations to most of the models and I want to make sure I get the correct mix for my army.

This is just to start, giving me a nice fighting force. In reality I can see me adding atleast 2 infantry squads to give me the 5 per platton

And a few more of each to ensure I complete a proper platoon.

To give you all an idea, a platoon is supposed to consist of the following: -

    1 Command Platoon Squad
    2 - 5 Infantry Squads
    0 - 5 Heavy Weapons Squads
    0 - 2 Special Weapons Squads
    1 Conscripts Squad

So thats a lot of troops just there, then I can add vehicles into that. There are vehicle squads which comprise of between 1 - 3 vehicles (Heavy Support)

There are also loads of special units that can be added which I haven't even thought about yet.

Price of this lot? I hate to think!

Hope I didn't bore you all too much

Ah, ok. Your manager ought not be letting you find yourself in this situation anyway.

Heh, funny thing is, he is kinda a pain/ useless tbh. On the desk i was on, if we need to send serive alerts out (e-mails informing of problems) then we are supposed to send them to him first so he can proof read them and also phone him to make sure he is checking e-mails.

We phoned him three or four times and sent the same e-mail 3 or 4 times and got no responce. GREAT!

Perhaps you could leave your army for a second and go to a park to see other people, maybe go to a church or theatre. You know, to make your life crazye.

To the OP. Times like this are a perfect time for personal development. Next time this happens, make sure you are studying for something and bring some of the reading material to work.

We're supposed to use quiet times at work to do some training, but we never do as there is never enough of us to cover for those that are plonked infront of the PC out the back so nobody ever does any training.

never underestimate the power of heavy bolters. (which you appear to not have any of).
    st5, heavy 3, ap4 = 9 shots in a heavy weapon team = ~4 dead enemies per shooting phase.

mass infantry works well too, just run them all headlong towards the foe, shouting "waaaagh for the emperor", confuse the hell out of your opponent with your orky tactics and relish the victory.

other than that. get buying, get painting.

I really need to get painting mine again, before the paint dries up in the pots.

Heavy Bolters on the Valk's Leman Russ I have will have some obviously and maybe a heavy bolter based heavy wepaons team.

But while my PC is offline I may do some painting...May also buy a battle box, gets me most of what I need for a lot less!
