    Edit:
I have to admit Harriet Harmon was a tempting choice.
Not quite what I meant with the thread ... but it's a fair enough point of view.

I think we can probably assume that anyone voting for Mandy is not likely to be voting Labour in any real elections .....

I knew I recognised you. Hello, Mr Cameron. I'd have thought you'd be too busy today to browse here right now.

Any advance peeks at new names for Ministers?

Someone must have voted for him in a real election at some point...

(i.e. someone must have voted for both Mandy and Labour at some point. Hmmm, if I need to explain my point I'm probably being a bit too obscure, aren't I... )

Treating it at face value, yeah of course they voted for him in the Dark Ages of the last Millennium. But he's been forced from office in disgrace not once but twice since then, appointed as an unelected EU bureaucrat by labour since, and then hoiked back by Brown and foisted on the Lords, to end up as a Minister (and as very powerful one at that) and a major force in the government, without having to go through the minor irritation of being elected to anything, by us, the actual voters.

The notion of anyone, regardless of party, being even eligible for Prime Minister in that way is a gross insult to the notion of democracy. It's about time politics was dragged kicking and screaming out of the Dark Ages, at least as far as Victorian Times, and preferably to the 20th Century if not the 21st.

Mandelson as PM? Will the last one out of the country grab the cat, and turn out the lights.

Re: The Labour leadership election ....

I might get flamed for this but here goes anyway. I can appreciate the distain people have towards Mandy but I cant help but have some sort of admiration/respect for the guy. I view Osbourne in the same way, he comes a cross as a right 'weasel' for lack of a better term but for some reason I think he deserves, my respect, at least.

They give the impression to me that they can get stuff done, or at least know how to - desirable and not desirable when considering there positions, but yeah, its weird
Kalniel: "Nice review Tarinder - would it be possible to get a picture of the case when the components are installed (with the side off obviously)?"
CAT-THE-FIFTH: "The Antec 300 is a case which has an understated and clean appearance which many people like. Not everyone is into e-peen looking computers which look like a cross between the imagination of a hyperactive 10 year old and a Frog."
TKPeters: "Off to AVForum better Deal - £20+Vat for Free Shipping @ Scan"

Not by me you won't. I might heartily disagree with you though.

For me, the jury is out on Osborne. I've not seen enough of him to have much of a grasp of him personally, and as he hasn't been in power, I can't judge him on that. As for Mandelson, pass the garlic, cross and Holy Water please.

Alan Johnson might have been your preferred choice? The man who sacked David Nutt for speaking the truth?

Personally, I wouldn't piss on him if he was on fire. So I'd be interested in why you think he would have been the man for the job?

I think it will be David Milliband, but I would like it to be Ed Balls I think (not just for the Sun headline gold that 'Balls' provides).

Best Sun political headline was when Paddy Ashdown got caught playing away - Mr Paddy Pantsdown is brilliant!

Say what you want about Campbell, but his trolling of Adam Boulton here is absolute quality.
