    Alternatively, put your specs in a section of the user menu. Then people just have to click on your name & it's be in the 'view profile', 'send pm' menu as PC Specs or similar.

    Sig's if people dont take the pee then its not a problem. Very few people do and most shrink them on request when they havnt realised so a rule is probably not needed "ooohh your suspended for having such a big sig" how kinky

    Stats and whos online lists, you'l soon get bored of these and its more strain on the datasbase so why bother?

    Some more smileys would be nice :bang: must return

    The support forums are a great idea and seem to be working very nicely.

    Specs in sig's, sarg is just jelous cos hes running a pentium 2 j/k

    I used to like the welcome bar when you entered the forums. Could we have that back or would it mean more drain on the database?

    Think that every runs pretty good as it. Dont really have anything to input there...all though stats would be nice...but if the costs (i.e. slowly down website) are too high then there isnt really much point.

    Something showing who is online over the whole forum is a good idea.
    More emotions is a good idea but not too many as it looks a bit poor, maybe have a set amount that you click on (like you do now) but then others loaded so if you know the vb for them you can call them up. Saves the Post bit looking too scrappy.

    And i agree with the guys above, if more support forums are to be joining it prolly would benefit the Hardware section for them to be in their own forum.

    Think computer specs in sig should be staying, as its quite interesting to see what other people are running and not have to click on anything

    Hehe, specs in sigs are just old now. As for the p2... the slowest machine here is a xp 2200 running an email/seti server.

    I just disabled avatars and this place looks alot neater without them so thats something else to consider.

    Give away some of that nice stuff you review over on the main site.

    Seriously, though, something I thought had previously been seen to some time back (Over in the Suggestions forum), the expiration for search results still seems to be set to 24 hours. Which is a tad too short for my [evil ] purposes (48 hours would do just fine).

    Really my only quibble with an otherwise great forum.

    Smileys are always good

    Oh computer specs in sigs? nobody is forcing you to look at them, in fact you can turn them off in the user prefs if you don't like sigs at all..

    Other than smileys, there isn't much else you can do to discussion forums other than ensureing that there is plenty of content..

    Something else you *could* do on a more sitewide level is arrange realtime chat/interviews with industry people if you have the contacts and can handle the organising in the chatroom (I'm sure you could..), I'm sure there would be plenty of people here interested?

    And it's useful for a spot of bragging
    Have an extra users profile area where it is possible to add your system specs saving having to have your specs in your sig then have a link to it from the main window?

    Enable the Currently Active Users diaplay and more smileys. The newegg add is also in the way in its current position as it limits the viewing and use of the forum links just above it, it would probably be better at the very top of the page.

    Oh, it might be a bit of work, but I've seen it done...

    Link the news section on the main page with a forum section, allowing us to discuss news items - I've seen a few instances where threads have been started around a front page news item.

    This would also increase throughput from the main site into the forum, which advertisers will like.
    PHP Code:
    $s = new signature();
    $s->sarcasm()->intellect()->font('Courier New')->display();

    With regard to sigs i think it would be nice if they were all the same size. IT would look neater. Also possibly there should be a limit on the size to take pity on the 56k people. As far as i can see at the moment sigs vary from 15kb to 100kb.

    Actually i think my sig is too big at the mo . Tell me if it annoys you.

    I think a list of all users online would be a lot more useful than the lists at the bottom of every forum. After all there is rarely enough people posting for it to be of much relevance on individual forums.
