Honeymoon destinations

Hey,

I'm getting married in November and I need to organise the honeymoon. I'd like to go somewhere hot for a week or less but I don't want to spend every waking minute by the pool or on the beach, there must be plenty to do as well, such as visiting places of natural beauty or cultural significance. Night life, in terms of bars and clubs isn't important, but good restaurants and entertainment are.

My absolute maximum is £1,000 for everything, except spending money. Suggestions?

Only if you want your wife to be to have a miserable time! They treat women pretty badly over there and it'll restrict your enjoyment by not being able to kiss in public or hold hands or get drunk outside of your hotel!


Personally, I think one of the big theme parks is a fun place to spend your honeymoon, if you've got the money somewhere like Disney World so you've got the choice of things to do.

Actually, hm, November? That's a problem. In the northern hemisphere, we have something called "winter" that starts around then, and makes things cold and unpleasant. The alternative is the southern hemisphere - or as close to it as you can get - but the longer the flights, the more money you'll spend.

You can try for an ultra-budget place to the Med or Caribbean (Cyprus, Majorca, Tunisia, etc, are in your budget, as well as a few places like Florida & the Dominican Republic). Your best bet might be a last-minute holiday from a high-street outfit like Thompson - they tend to have package holidays with heavy discount if you buy with only a month or two to spare, and fly on pre-set dates.

At first I was going to say New Zealand but im afraid, with your budget you wont get anywhere that fits your requirments. You are definetly going to be limited to Europe region. Which wont be that warm in November as directhex says.

Maybe postone the honeymoon for a bit?

Also the local pastime is well this is a family friendly forum, but i've never seen so many kinds of lubricant sold at a small corner shop.

I was gonna suggest something like that, but they can be surprisingly expensive

Las Vegas - lots of restaurants and sights to see (helicopter flight over the Grand Canyon ?), it will still be pretty warm and you will get good luxury for your money... look at the Signature at MGM Grand for superb accommodation at a decent price that's not directly on the strip.

Hot in November for under £1000 for two is likely to be slumming it slightly - possibly not what you want on a honeymoon. Maybe you could get a late deal to the Dominican Republic or Cancuun , but it wont be luxury.

Pretty warm like North Africa would be better value.
