Got a Sony DSC-S70 in the family... Big, but really takes great pictures still... Believe it's close to 3 and a half year old now. Sad that it won't accept larger memorysticks than 128MB...

I'm just about to get a digital camera for myself aswell, will probably get a Canon Ixus i, bronze or black... The combination of design, size, image quality and price caught me

I generally love using my bro's Canon EOS 300D digital slr, lovely camera, shame it's not mine though.

but if you are including DV camcorders too, then mine is a Canon XM1, couple of years old now but still awesome. although i found my dream movie camera today and it only cost a mere £43,000 so i'm thinking of upgrading. If only dreams came true.

    Outrageous pimp mode on

You (and your brother) might like to take a look at The Digital Darkroom - we have support forum for Canon D-SLR users here. Actually, anyone that's into digital photography is welcome, the place isn't just for high-end stuff.

    Outrageous pimp mode off

    Sorry - couldn't resist

Personally, at the moment, I'm using an Olympus E-20 with the 3x Teleconverter, Macro converter and high-power battery pack. Oh, and an Olympus C-5050 for when I don't want to carry a honking great DSLR about.

On the cards at some point is a Canon EOS-10D Mk2, because I can then use the Canon lens collection that I have for my 35mm Canon SLR. Meantine, I'm 'making do' with the E-20 (superb camera, BTW).

    I've got a Fuji S5000

It looks like a proper camera but its just a glorified point and shoot jobbie

It does all I want it to do and probably a lot more but I've never read the manual

Just got a Canon EOS 300D a few weeks ago and it is absolutely amazing. Never had an SLR before so i'm just learning how to use it. But it's cool.

What i love about it is that i've got a 512MB flash card with it and you can take over 200 full 6megapixel photos at very reasonable JPEG compression on it. Was doing some fieldwork on Wednesday and took 204 shots. I dont have a laptop so it is very useful on site.

Just got a Casio QVR-40 this week, cheap from Dixons. I'm impressed so far. When I worked at Jessops it was obvious that a lot of Pentax and Casio models were basically the same design, so it ought to be good really.

Just need a 256mb card now....

Saracen mate, you should get an EOS-1DS. You know it makes sense..... We got one into the shop once, holding 6 grand's worth of camera in your hands is pretty frightening!

Nikon Coolpix 775. I used to work for Nikon's parent company (Mitsubishi) so I got a nice discount.

Fuji Finepix F700. I've been really pleased with it, for a camera that is small enough to put in your pocket, it takes some good close up shots, and movie too!

I've had a lot of sobering thoughts in my time.... It was them that started me drinking.
