Car Insurance, WTH?

i just had my renewal last month.
i drive a diesel galaxy, i am 37 with 5yrs NCB and my policy has gone up 25%
and that is the cheapest i can find

I wonder how many more people are driving around with no insurance now?

i can see your point, as with these price increases, some people on a tight budget, will not be able to afford insurance.
but have you seen the amount of ANPR cars and vans about these days, you wouldn't last 5 mins without being caught.
but if someone robbed your house, it takes them a week to come out, thats if they can be bothered

According to MIB (no, not the guys with cool glasses and fancy alien-zapping weapons, I mean the Motor Insurer's Bureau) about 1.5 million last year, but it was 1.8 million a few years back. I'd love to know how they do it and get away with it, with all those ANPR cameras in police cars, etc.

false plates I guess. As long as you get them from from a similar car, how are the police to know until they pull you over and check your tax disc. (thats if they have a valid one).

those police bars are the places not to turn up to then?

thought they just use a car that is insured under some one elses name? that way they will not get caught unless they have a crash, or get stopped
