I bought a motherboard off ebay, when it arrived it didn't work. i tried everything I could think of but nothing worked with it. I contacted the seller in regards to it and after numerous emails he refused to accept a return of it for checking/ a refund.
I set up a dispute in paypal, confident I would get my money back for it. I submitted my case, he submitted a hastily written rebuke.
Paypal then requested the tracking information off of me to prove the item arrived. The problem was the sender had posted it out 1st class STANDARD delivery, so there was no tracking information.
I explained this to Paypal, telling them to check the original sale as it very clearly said ''1st class STANDARD delivery service'' in 2 separate locations.
I now hear back that due to the fact i did not provide valid tracking information I have lost the dispute. . How is this sort of thing normally handled? 1st class & 2nd class parcels carry no tracking information so I cant have been the only one caught up in this? Had I just claimed the parcel never turned up I would have got my money back as the seller could not prove delivery.
I am really hacked off with it, just out of principle. Lesson learn't i guess. Luckily it was only £30 and not more!
