Question Possible to get a video off youtube with out any quality loss ?

Hi someone is uploading a video on Youtube in the next few days and I would like to some how get it off that site so I have a actual copy of it on my PC.

Is there some way I can get a video off youtube ? but more importantly I want it to be the original with no quality loss

Thanks for any advice or help !

If you're using firefox... netvideohunter, always works fine for me

Just open the highest def version then click the button, it gives you a link/option to just download it

I assume you can't just contact this person and ask them to send you a copy?

Considering it's likely infringing copyright it sounds dodgy, especially when a JFGI would give a load of answers

That won't happen, you lose quality as soon as it goes on Youtube

I use Replay Media Catcher to capture video and audio from any source (Youtube, iPlayer etc). Works very well.

    www.keepvid.com

    Check copyright first, of course.

If you're in the video you can demand a copy (or at least a copy of the parts with you in) under the data protection act (assuming you haven't signed any contracts that waive your right to it)!

Do all these sites listed like keepvid capture 100% of the youtube video or does it convert it to lower specs ?

I use jDownloader all you need to do it copy the address for the video and then select which quality and add it to your queue, no need to use a specific browser, works on most operating systems and downloads it when you tell it to. Oh and it's free too so whats not to like?
