Yeah sounds MAD.
It's difficult to imagine with all the traffic etc but i suppose they could make a nice enough circuit.
Do you reckon they would have to pay to enter the Congestion Zone??
If you're not living on the edge, you take up too much room
That would kick arse! F1 cars going over tower bridge

Have someone seen "Getaway Stockholm" ?
I think it's three or four episodes now. It's all from fast porsche cars to exclusive Lotus cars. The movies are about going around in Stockholm as fast as you can with the police following you. In the first movie (which I think is the best one) they drive over 250 km/h in central Stockholm. Quite cool and amazing
Maybe time for a "Getaway London?"
(Stockholm = The capital of Sweden)
Cisco ocsiC
wasnt there one with a sierra cosworth and a supra twin turbo??
getaway in stockholm is a 4 part show off race,
first they used a 911
then a Escort Cossie and a Supra raced
then an NSX type-r
and also a Cammaro
there all highly illegal and as fun to watch as the girl next door showering
Where can I see this? <salivates>Originally Posted by Russ
Since street racing isn't legal, you can't go to your normal video rental store and get them... But they shouldn't be too hard to find.
The original idea came from the Getaway in Paris. A Porsche racing in.... supprise! Paris! A really old film piece of street racing.
And to get back to the topic, it sounds really cool. New F1 tracks always brings new interesting situations. And I've always liked the street courses. Especially Monaco.
Light travels faster than sound. Is this why some people appear bright until you hear them speak?
peh, who wants to see F1 cars race in drabby London - Edinburgh's a much more scenic choice!
I'd perfer Stockholm, but noone is silly enough to listen to me now are they?

lol stockholm f1 racing !
cobble streets and wide roads would make a fun race, but to mny deaths
F1 on a dedicated circuit is now merely a high speed traffic queue. After the first lap there's not much point watching except to see who won at the end. There are the odd digressions from this. Silverstone in torrential rain was one of them. But add the constraint of a city circuit and the result is decided in qualifying. As long as the guy in front after the lights change doesn't do anything daft he wins. Monaco has to be the most boring motor racing spectacle in the season. Compared to the opening round of the Moto GP at Kyalami this year for example. And any round of 125 GP organised mayhem you care to think of (I'll admit it, I'm biased when it comes to racing).
Ok, the thought of a F1 car buried in the front door of, say, Harrods would be an amusing aside (providing the driver walked away from) but other than that for me F1 isn't the formula for that type of racing. Indy does it very well on street circuits but the cities they race in are much more modern than London and don't have a road system based on the horse and cart.

Formula Ford (or was it F3000) used to be fun to watch around Brum. Shame they stopped it
