Just to being the tone down, getting the sh*ts because of the water/food/bugs.
Always remeber to take diacalm of imodium on holiday .
Oh yeah those stupid wheely bags. They are quite annoying.
Unhelpful airport staff. "
Oh you missed your connecting flight cause our flight was late in? Well hes a £5 voucher for macdonalds come back in the morning."
er no....you can put me up in a nice hotel thank you very much.

thing I hate about Holidays is the GERMANS and their facination for sticking their TOWELS on the sun loungers at 5 am !!!!!!!!
I mean any normal person is probably still out on the ""beer" @ 5 am trying to cop off with Shazza and Tracy from Essex while queuing for KFC/Burger King/Kebab Shop etc
If only they could make a bacteria thats in a solution that eats through cotton .....ahh the millions that could be made from it eating "german towels" that are left there at the crack of dawn
I hate travelling to new places...it stresses the living daylights out of me.
Once Ive been there.....relaxed and chilled.....but first time..
I am dreadfull.
For which I must apologise to Sair who had to put up with me on our first foreign holiday and I was not a happy bunny for the first two days
but now Ive been there....Im cool about it.
Only thing that doesnt stress me....driving.
Anywhere...and vehicle.....anytime...I can do that ok

Hence why I finally got around to passing my driving test this year - sod the %^%^$ trains! (8 hours to get from Birmingham to Norwich! I could have driven, got lost, had food, and still beaten the train back!)

I've had to do more hours than I care to think in planes - most of the time, between the UK and NZ/Australia... worst ever flight was:
London
LA
Honolulu
Fiji
Auckland
Tauranga
... to get home to see the family on Xmas day - 48 hours on planes and in transit lounges - in Honolulu - had to change terminals, and wasn't even allowed out of the bus, and 6 hours on the ground in LAX and not being allowed a fag.
At least getting from Auckland to Tauranga was easy - I had too much stuff to go on the cessna, so the airline guys gave me a garbage bag, and I stuffed a couple of days worth of clothes in there, and they delivered all my bags to my parents place on Boxing Day! very nice of them too! Everyone had to wait for their pressies tho!
I had a similar fun trip to RVF500 - flew to Singapore from London for a meeting, and as the flight was less than 13 hours, my company refused to upgrade me to business (had to pay for the upgrade myself) then onto Sydney (same day! after 4 hour meeting!) meeting the next morning - then off to Perth... then back to Sydney for another meeting... then Hong Kong two days later for a meeting... then was supposed to go back to London, but had to go to NY instead, as my boss had cancelled his trip to the UK... so hopped to Narita, to LA then to NY... a client had a problem in Seattle, so guess who gets sent there! Was there for three days, then back to London. Was on the road for 3 weeks, and had to buy two new suits... but the really good part is...
Because I was out of the country much longer than anticipated, I got grief about my residency coming back into the UK... my company wouldn't guarentee I wouldn't have to travel - so I quit my job.
Oi whats wrong with Preston? And they are always from Peterborough/Nottingham/Northampton/Preston or somewhere else equally nondescript.
Yeah and whats wrong with nottingham. It kicks ass.Originally Posted by headbrace

Ahh Scottyman.....you have my sympathy of having to go through Narita. 3 of us needed to get over to Korea from Tokyo to carry out some fibre testing and the company wouldn't upgrade us so we had to wait 4 days to get a flight out of Narita to Seoul. Up to the airport every day to try and get a cancellation. Had a 6 hour layover there too. It has to be the dullest airport in history once you get airside. Spent 6 hours watching the baggage handlers loading aircraft for entertainment. Anyone go any paint I can watch dry?

I may be going to florida this year all depends on if i can get a visa. I have to get the court records - took 2 weeks as the "forgot" about it then fill out a form at the us embassy, then another form, send it in with £60 and wait until the call me for an interview to see if I'm a good citizen, then wait.
I what did I do to deserve this

Can't you go over on the visa waiver program or are you planning to stay for more than 90 days? I know that for working there are no more HB1 visas until around October time.
