Novice on the guitar, but I really haven't practised for a while, not sure that it's my instrument. Might pick it up again down the line.

Irish Tin Whistle - started teaching myself about three months ago, maybe four, and doing quite well. Absolutely love it, and love annoying my friends since it's the most portable instrument known to man (okay, maybe not).

And I sing, does that count as an instrument?

Hm, I've done a lot ! Now I voted piano cos that's the funniest thing I've played. I played with a techer for one year..but I've kept playin' myself and I'm learning more now And I've played violin..which I played for 5 years. Now I'm trying on a lot of stuff since I've got an easy time playin' different kinda instrument..so I've been trying: Drums and Guitar too

There are a few clubs around redditch. I was in dublin a few months back playing a few pubs and the headquarters of irish traditional music. Been playing irish music for about 4-5 years now.
Havent played any for about a month now, becuase of the pressure being put on me about exams . Il try and dig up some of my stuff later but i play quite a large range. What about you?
I should be in cork sometime this summer or the start of next year. It should be good Feel free to contact me on msn

Piano here, got to about Grade 4, then quit because of my teacher. The only reason we used her was because she was cheap, but she also happened to be an old lady on a zimmer frame who drives you mad. Would have carried on otherwise, still play now and again.

I have a leccy and an acoustic guitar. Sadly I'm crap at both, not enough practice. My daughter has just taken up drums so we plan to get together and make my wife's life hell every now and then.

The best thing I did musically was to take my son, then 15, to a guitar lesson with me. The guy teaching me gave him a bass and showed him a few bass lines, he played drums, I played lead and we thrashed and murdered our way through as many tunes as we could think of for 2 hours solid

...Started playing at 12, then stopped at 14, took a year break to mess about at high school, then in 4th year started learning again. Im 21 now. woo.

I'll post pics of my kit when I have em.
    *warning bragging about scores here:*

    I gots 231/250 for my grade 5
    I gots 229/250 for my grade 7.

Didnt do grade 8 cos I realised grades mean nothing - they seriously dont mean anything, they are jus to sho opff with, jus so happens I got a pretty good score.

Anyways I need grade 5 theory to my grade 8 exam which i see no point.

    So meh.

    had to edit this heheheh

I guess bass comes under guitar.

    Then there's always the stylophone.

As well as violin, sax, piano, organ; I can get a tune out of them all but wouldn't say I was good.

"play" is probably a bit of a strong adjective to describe what I do to my trumpet.... I've become rather disillusioned with it tbh.. haven't picked it up for a bout 4 months now

Thats cool. I sometimes play very traditional trad if you know what I mean but generally influences would be on the more modern side of things. Listen a lot to people like Niall Vallely, Mick McGoldrick, Flook, Solas, Kila, Shooglenifty etc etc .
I play a lot with my brother who plays flute, whistle, piano accordion and piano and we have similar interests so end up playing a lot of rather strange, but cool, tunes I also like other world folk music and am involved in this festival.

Where are you playing in Cork when you come?
