technically, you could have a NTSC R2 disk - although very unlikely !!

If you've got an NTSC-compatible TV, then you could technically play it.

I used to watch R1 NTSC DVDs on my PS2 with a boot disk. Worked fine, apart from all the faffing about with the disks and the noise from the PS2 fan.

EDIT: Japan is Region 2/NTSC, so the DVD specs could be right.

if you do get the wrong region, you can get a disk for the PS2 that makes it multi-region anyway. most places sell em.

if war is the answer, then we are asking the wrong question
