If it's Scotland, I happen to know someone that experienced a similar problem.
That was until a chat with the local bobby revealed its a "Removable Obstructive Offence" to block a private or public access-point/entrance (yada yada other police talk type stuff here ).
This resulted in the person I know contacting such local bobby when his drive was blocked again, as to which the bobby brought his friend Mr. Removal-Truck
Used to have this happen a fair old bit when I lived with parents back up north.
The solution?
Wake neighbours up at stupid o'clock in the morning asking them to move car.
Always best to give them a least one warning before getting the old bill involved, otherwise they plead ignorance.
we don't have this problem, instead the neighbours at either side seem to have a constant amount of visitors in cars who take up all the space on the pavement surrounding our house so it's really hard for my mum n dad to reverse off the drive cos the cars block their view and make it harder to get out. You can't really complain though as they're not 'blocking' the driveway
I feel I have joined a united brotherhood here, on this emotive subject of driveway parking.....Thank you!!
I HATE PEOPLE who are so IGNORANT that they cannot even recognise a driveway when they see one. The very fact that these people are behind the wheel of a car is worrying.
I used to get SO SO annoyed when my neighbours (word used loosely) used to park across my driveway, and like someone else here, that sight would still grate even when I did not need to use it right then and there. I mean it's a DRIVEWAY with DROPPED KERB!!?! We NEED to get IN and OUT of there. DUH.
One night on coming home late from a long working day I finally saw the red mist.... and moved the offending vehicle with my own car (taking damage prevention precautions of course, and none was done). To say those morons went ballistic is an understatment but they obviously got the message. Especially when the police arrived in response to their bleating of: "someones hit our beloved car, boo hoo, sob". They quickly learned from the boys in blue, that if you behave like an inconsiderate imbicile then you should not expect to remain on your neighbour's Xmas card list.
Needless to say, other than dispensing some well chosen words of wisdom to my feckless "neighbours" they took the matter no further, having seen me as the moral victor even though technically speaking I had overstepped the mark when deciding to take matters into my own hands. It was encouraging to hear them say, "if it happens again sir, let us know we'll be along to remove it, no worries"
Since since then, a nice clear driveway every day :-)
woah, some powerful threadcromantic arts going on here, better call the witch hunter general
*sharpens pitchfork*
I actually started reading this thinking id somehow missed this thread devolping!
Why bump a 3 year old thread?! what is the point?
Ya know till schmunks post I had no idea how old this thread was and was actually about to post something relevant... ah well.
Hey, someone blocking your driveway is as relevant today as it was 3 years ago!

Schmunk....I'd say you were being a bit harsh there old bean.
Nothing wrong with bumping a three year old thread if it's relevant....since when has having a good whinge been frowned upon on Hexus?

Hey hey, my post was no more harsh than the one I quoted. What annoyed/amused me is that the person doesn't seem to register that (s)he's bumping a thread that's over 3 years old.
What I would prefer is a new thread, with a link back to the older thread. However, as 98.7%* of such bumped posts are by individuals with a post count of '1', they aren't able to do this.
I hate myself for saying it, but "n00bs "
*FACT!
Ah, but he's talking about people unlikely to be frequenting Hexus, where as you're indirectly referencing him...not the nicest way to greet a new member (see here for how to do it properly), especially ones with little idea of forum protocol....
And anyway, if a three year old thread brought him into the welcoming bosom of Hexus (trying to keep DR out of mental imagery when I say that. And failing) then I'd say that gives him bumping rights.

What you can do it call five 0 , get them to ticket it, and if its still there then they will have ti towed as its illeagal to have it done. This was done on another forum and he took pictures to show the story..
Was quite funny when the girl came back to her car and found it was gone and had to pay 180 quid plus the ticket to have it released
