    Remote desktop

    Got this working over our LAN and i have found that it is most entertaining for freaking out my little sister.

    She has no idea that i have set this up or even that it is possible.

    Buahahahahaha

    Suggestions on how best to use this to freak her out?

    freak her out you know you want to, how about opening up notepad whilst she is on the computer and start typing such things as "we're watching you" and "the walls have ears" keep doing it, last place I worked at we did it to a new member of staff, didn't realise they got really freaked out by things like this lol they went ballistic and ran out the room screaming about ghouls in the building :S was funny at the time though.

    I'm rather paranoid at college - because they can VNC any of the machines.

    I rarely go on games at college (I save that for home,) but the other week the whole class was at it (no teacher) and we were playing a game written by somebody in the class.

    So, to avoid detection, I unplugged my network cable... just in case.

    Your trick is a good one - BUT IT WON'T FOOL ME HAHA!

    It's in the screensaver settings, if it's the one I'm thinking of: "On resume, password protect"
    PHP Code:
    $s = new signature();
    $s->sarcasm()->intellect()->font('Courier New')->display();

    We're always doing that at school. The RM software has built into it some sort of remote control software. It rarely gets used though. So games are usually safe.

    I use it at home for admin'ing my server and my dad's PC, but it's a bit useless here. Remote Desktop (The one with XP) logs the person out, so it's not so good for scaring people!

    The program (in RM Connect version 2 anyway) is called RM Tutor. You can execute commands on workstations.

    My favourites, back when I was at school, were running one of the following on a whole class, or selected pupils:

    rundll32.exe shutdown.exe,exitwindows - and the computer doth shutdown
    con/con - on unpatched win98 (ie RM) computers, unrecoverable BSOD

    Oh, the good days!

    It's actually called RM NetOP School. Lol.

    And you can't run any of those if you don't have access to the command prompt, let alone to the said execution software.
    Unless you make a shortcut somehow of course, but that's not stealthy enough

    one of the fun ones (can't remember what it's called now) allows generation of custom error messages, swapping mouse buttons, ejecting cd drive, changing volume etc... much fun for causing trouble!
