myloans macclesfield fraudent.....help :(

Ok so to cut things short, i have used quickquid before and recently finished up paying my last loan with them, thought it was all gravy then this happens...

myloans macclesfield take 69.99 out of my account! i mean i have never heard of the company and haven't applied for any other loans...any advice?

I'm intent on going right to the bank tomoz morning hoping they can pull it back and cancel my card but it is such a pain!

You've been dealing with a loan broker, I'd seriosuly check to see what yopu've agreed with companies and when. You may have agreed to something without realising it.

Nope i've only dealt with quickquid, read through the terms and there is nothing in there not sure how this company got my details but a quick google suggest they do this alot, something to do with a 3rd party, spoke to quickquid online and they say they have nothing to do with them....damit!

they cleaned out £300 after he repaid .. in the end he just closed the account and opened another ..

ring your bank now... leaving it a day would be a bit silly, if its open (which most are/should be?) tell them its a fraudulent payment if it really isnt in the T&C of quickquid, they will probably refund the money and chase the buggers themselves, depending on the bank ofc.

In the first instance never deal with QuickQuid, however if the other company have no legal entitlement to the money they've taken from you then you need to get their details, write to them and tell them they have no legal entitlement to the money they have taken and demaned they refund it to you.

Was it by card or by direct debit If the latter you can call the bank and use the direct debit guarantee. Money back, bank fight it. If it's by card, it'll be a bit harder.

Either way, you should have rang the bank yesterday. I hope you did, as delaying notification of suspected fraudulent transactions won't help you much. I guess you could say you spent the day investigating it, but even then, I think (check your account T&C) that you should still notify them the instant you think something is awry.

On multiple occasions I've clawed back money after leaving it more then a week before calling my bank (HSBC).......in one instance they even went back over 2 years to refund me other payments that I had missed!

i have notified the bank, actually did it the day i posted this thread! either way the lady put a note on the system for the guys on fraud to deal with it today, thank god money is bank in my account and card stopped

Interestingly (and not quite on-topic) I booked into a hotel for a few nights a few months back, paying with my debit card. They took the payment twice and denied all knowledge. I spoke with the bank and advised that the second charge had not been authorised by myself - they didn't seem in the slightest bit interested. I asked them if they'd investigate it as a fraudulent transaction (being as I'd not authorised it and nobody else is a signatory on the account) and their response was "what makes you think it's fraud?"


Eventually after hassling both the hotel and the bank I got the duplicate payment refunded, but it meant a pretty slim few days at the end of the month.

Is true, for all the stick we give them about rubbish service and what not, the last time I lost my card and had to cancel it I called them up (from an airport, as it happens) and they sorted it within 5 minutes of me dialing the number.
