    New Year Resolutions?

The Single life is so much easier... simple *squeeks*

Just doing what I wanna do when I wanna do it. I'm now planning on improving my fitness regime with the free time that I have, and not spending money on bills etc lol! [The advantages]

I guess working on this will pay off in the long term. And hopefully I can stick to it.

    - Running
    - Swimming
    - 1000 Sit-Ups a week [Took this from a footballers work-out]
    - Improve on my diet

I ain't going to be taking supplements but the question I need to is, is it vital to do weights if I am looking to achieve a toned/v-cut look at the mid section?

Above all else, has anyone else made a NY Resol. and how have they stuck to it so far? :L

    Re: New Year Resolutions?

I'm looking at getting back into shape. I am, sadly, in the worst shape of my life.
I prefer to use home gyms or body-weight exercises. I'm looking at developing a circuit or two, along with some running.

I would like a bench and barbell etc but a bit pinched for finance so a set of dumbbells should suffice if I need anything.

I'm thinking of having a weekly test session to mark my progress including all the circuit exercises and a bleep test. And progressing week by week in reps and sets, as well as better times in running.

I'm someone enjoys a bit of community in these things so I've been thinking of inviting some friends of varied abilities/condition to see if they want to do the weekly thing together, but then mid-week stuff solo. Then maybe once a month some sort of group/team sport or activity which might rotate.

Still, if no-one's interested, I'm determined to pursue it myself. Can't let myself get any fatter than this and really enjoyed being fit. Just got lazy.

This is one circuit I've been looking at modifying to remove the weights. I like the intermittent cardio.

    20 Minutes Circuit Workout

(*choose light weights for max reps)

    1) Bench press* or pushups - max in 1:00
    2) Squats - max in 1:00
    3) Pullups or pulldowns - 1:00
    4) Bike or jog - 3:00
    5) Military press* - 1:00
    6) Lunges - 1:00 each leg
    7) Bicep curls - 1:00
    8) Bike or jog - 3:00
    9) Tricep extensions.- 1:00
    10) Leg ext - 1:00 (requires leg machines - or repeat squats with weights)
    11) Leg curls - 1:00 (requires leg machines - or repeat lunges with weights)
    12) Situps - 2:00
    13) Crunches - 2:00
    14) Stretch

    (Stolen from Military.com)

    Or this one:

    1st Set / 2nd Set / 3rd Set

    15 Press-ups | 20 Press-ups | 15 Press-ups
    20 Vertical Jumps | 25 Vertical Jumps | 20 Vertical Jumps
    20 Squats | 30 Squats | 20 Squats
    4 Pull-ups | 6 Pull-ups | 4 Pull-ups
10 Hanging Leg Raises | 15 Hanging Leg Raises | 10 Hanging Leg Raises
    15 Box Jumps | 20 Box Jumps | 15 Box Jumps
    4 Dips | 6 Dips | 4 Dips
    20 Sit-ups | 30 Sit-ups | 20 Sit-ups
    10 Lunges | 20 Lunges | 10 Lunges

Stolen from somewhere else. Will have to dig up the link.

    Re: New Year Resolutions?

Well, I managed three out of four of my resolutions last year, so this year it's a lot harder to find anything more than "keep doing what I'm doing"

however, one definite goal for this year is file for divorce to Mrs Lucio, been nearly three years since we seperatrd and its high time I got the paperwork in order!

    Re: New Year Resolutions?

I've cut out sweets - My worst nightmare. I usually snack on something at least once a night - so It's been really hard, but so far, I've managed to stay cold turkey... don't know how much longer I can manage though without popcorn and stuff at the cinema...

I clicked with the same idea. xD

It was waiting to happen on a computer forum!

I hadn't give it much thought, but it would probably be to get to bed earlier (he says, at 1AM)...
