    Hull has THE weirdest weather

Loaded up a tranist van with a load of my parents' stuff that was in my loft (things they didn't take to the US with them) and drove across to Hull to my gran's to store it there.
Leave Macclesfield around 9:45 - nice and sunny, wearing sunglasses, feelin' groovy.
    M60 - M62 - outside Leeds - overcast, sunglasses come off.
Get to Hull - suddenly the heavens OPEN big time, for about 5 minutes so visibility on Clive Sullivan Way is a few yards.
By the time I pull up at my gran's (about 15 minutes), the sky is completely clear, blue, sun is out and birds are a-tweeting.

Throughout the afternoon we sat in the garden and I swear there must be stealth-clouds that fly around drizzling on poor unsuspecting "you b'aint from round these parts" people and vanishing, probably hiding behind a nearby chimney stack giggling.

Hull weather, it seems, is now as unpredictable as my ex-wife.
At least Macc weather has a tendency to stay consistent for at least an hour at a time!

But now I am home, with a beer, and life is once more groovy.
The knowledge of only 9 more working days in my current job helps, too

It was like that here in wakefield yesterday. it'd be pouring one min and sunny the next. We were walking to sainsbury's and i kept feeling spits of rain, looked up and there was nothing..... no clouds to beseen, just blue sky. And again, i'm not from round these parts, so maybe you're right....

Nothing like Scotland. Today it totally bucketed down twice. This morning was t-shirt/sunglasses. There was a part of town where it was raining and there was no clouds above me (carried by wind or whatever) . . . then this evening's been beautiful.

Dont remember the last time it didn't rain, we've had rain everyday since probably mid May?

I apologise for the weather here in Hull. I'm also sorry that you had to come here. (You may have gathered that I aren't too keen on where I live...)

Usually we get less extreme weather than most places. For example, a lot of weather comes in from the west, and as such a lot of rain and snow gets dropped on the Penines before it reaches us here in Hull.

Hehe, I spent 16 years in Hull before I escaped, don't recall the weather being particularly "odd" back then - in fact I have a fond recollection of a Christmas when it actually *gasp* snowed.
    Scary stuff.

I just found it strange that it would rain really heavily, then as soon as you got outside all you could see in every direction (it's very flat in Roos) was blue sky.

Hmmmm.... from what i've seen it's just as random, it was sunny upstairs in my flat and dreary and grey downstairs!

Weather up here is very unpredictable. and it rains a lot.

You get lots of rainbows in Macc though!

    Aha!
You clearly live in a reaaaaaaaaaally tall tower, so upstairs is above cloud level, hence sunny

Had really weird weather here a couple of weeks ago, it was bright and sunny, not really any cloud apart from the odd white whispy one, then all of a sudden, loads of hale for about 10 minutes, then, nothing!

    East Anglia is weird..
