Well our rules are different (apparently 'cause we're outside the UK) but in the first year you HAVE to do units 1 - 6 and in the second year you can choose what you want as long as it has one external in it.

    B, C, U, U - Computing, Product Design, Physics, Maths

B was annoyed with coz I was so close to an A, lol. C I was happy with, I knew I was gonna fail maths but I was really suprised about physics, however 5 peeps failed in our group and no one got more than a C ... I was really suprised although we're all blaming it on the teacher, lol.

so how many passed this time round? 98% or something...
and with more A grades again this time round what are they in? at the risk of offending people I'm not going to say anything because I'm sure the majority of people work bloody hard for them, but there has been an increase in 'mickeymouse' subjects such as home economics...i mean really, come on!! anyone can make a hot chocolate. i think thats why more a's are creeping in. especially since they noted a decline in sciences.
no, hats off to all those who got into university, lots of random sex and drunken drugged up nights out - or was it the other way around...I forget, I was rather drunk at the time!
    enjoy!

drunk and drugged up shagging nights here i come woo

as for you shiato, i think your right, mickey mouse subjects, bleh, its easy for people who dont do so great at gcses to allow them to go to college, i mean compare stuff like as you said home economics and say maths?

HE, probably a easy 98%, cook a pie, say it tastes good and whoops thats your 75% coursework. oops your already sorted for an A

then maths? 1 person in my class got an A (out of 30) and a good 14/15 failed completely (U)

kinda unfair when ppl do maths, furthur maths, and physics, to get beaten into a uni place by someone who did HE, art and media, as its easier to get top grades in them, furthur maths to get an A, is near impossible, media ? most people i know who did it got an A :\

Surprisingly I agree with you, and I'm doing them atm!

I'll freely admit that I am taking advantage of a mickey mouse subject - Media.

I do Maths, Physics, Business Studies and Media. The reason I did Media was that it is as easy as you can get plus it enables me to do four A Levels while effectively working for three. I'm not stupid, I got 4A*s and 6As in my GCSEs, but I doubt very much I would have been able to get four As at AS level if I had subbed Media for Further Maths or Chemistry for example.

So yes, I'm taking advantage of the system so I can get Four A Levels on paper even though Media isn't worth the actual paper itself.

First Up congrats to you all and don't panic if you didn't do as well as you hoped, there's plenty of time left to do really well in life, and 5 years on a-levels look really irrelevant.

Also reeeeeeely enjoy uni all of you who're off, I enjoyed it so much I hung around for a year after I graduated (just - bl00dy Counter Strike - there goes my second year) and then I went back for more!

Btw, anyone off to Nottingham? Especially biologists?

So BBB *should* be harder...or something....
I'm very confused. Just done ASs, and out of 300 points, the boundaries were A 240+, B 210+, C 180+ etc. Or I thought they were. Why are your numbers different :-?.

Check the ucas site (www.ucas.com) they have a points calculator. You put in the grade - it gives you the points.
