got to find some sort of honeymoon with SFA cash for first week in october. gonna need some sun and beach inaction by then, so i think maybe turkey egypt if it settles down. anyone been to south africa at that time of year?
Turkey is mostly OK even Istanbul now.
Egypt? Myself for a relaxing honeymoon, no way, no way at all, not even close. I'm a mad fool who's driven through places which had advisories against it for tourism I wouldn't describe sleeping fully clothed n booted with an emergency pouch round my neck wishing I'd brought a gun relaxing. The only reason I was wishing I'd brought a gun, is because I was scared at the thought of been taken alive rather than killed outright. However, if you want some stress on such things check out: https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/egypt it's changing all the time.
However for October I wouldn't really go to either of those places for sun, I'd go a bit further South.
If it was two weeks, I'd say to look at the deals Vietnam Airlines have for going to Bangkok, spend a night there and head down to one of the islands, would be perfect for honeymoon stuff. I'm toying with pissing off my parents and having xmas out there with a group of friends. Return tickets are less than £500 inc taxes, which is an utter bargain.

Bike? Southport's pretty flat Or a skateboard?
Ooooh, Copenhagen was one of our favourite places on the cruise - that and Tallinn
Hopefully going to be going back to Amsterdam with a few of my mates at the end of the year. We went in February this year for 3 days and it was pretty epic. Completely different over there and I cannot wait to go back.
Will be going somewhere with my girlfriend in February next year for valentines day (how cute), thinking of going to Turkey for 5 or 7 days If anyone has any tips on where to go, let me know!
Might also be going to Amsterdam with my girlfriend in May, that's only a possibility though

As people have been saying, be careful planning for Turkey, it isn't the most stable place right now and won't be that warm in Feb. Morocco would be a fun place, if you think you're a good driver, look at doing the Tiz n Test pass, rent a car and take your girl for the saffron omelette thing that the mountain people are famed for. Spectacular views and amazing buildings will be the reward for your driving skills.
As far as Amsterdam goes, have you considered Utrecht? It's not far from the airport and doesn't have the tourism that plagues Amsterdam, yet still has all the amenities.

I've not really looked in to the stability of Turkey at the moment, my girlfriend has just come back from Egypt with her family and they were told to stay in the complex and any tours/excursions had been cancelled until further notice.
I've never really known much about Morocco, only ever seen it on a Thomas Cook advert I've heard that like you said, it has amazing views and a great food I've been thinking about Tunisia too, that's somewhere I fancy going, not sure where about's in Tunisia though, would take some looking in to.
I think she wants to go to Amsterdam just so she can say she's been there - As for me though, I don't mind going to different places in Holland, such as Utrecht

To be fair, you can stay pretty much anywhere in the Netherlands and day trip to pretty much anywhere else. Maastricht is really nice, but it's only a couple of hours on train from Amsterdam (iirc, I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm going mad ). If you're in to Center Parcs type holidays, there's a seasideish one at a place called Zandvoort that's only about 20 miles from Central Amsterdam - you can do the chilled holiday park thing and the city break all in one!

I fondly remember de https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Efteling park. However I was 8 last time I was there...

do you write for the daily mail? i was in turkey in may and didn't see a single bomb, let alone a civil war. turkey is a massive country, bigger than germany, so it is possible to holiday a long long way away from a city of people who are protesting about the consumption of alcohol, not fighting a bloodbath of a civil war.
i know egypt isn't that stable, but i do wonder if there won't be a bargain or two to be had!!!
Amsterdam tomorrow!! WOOOO!! See you guys in 5 days

No fancy holiday this (or next) year, unfortunately.
Just got back from visiting the folks up north for a couple of weeks, although it felt like I was off work for a month - it was bliss. One of those rare breaks that passes at a very leisurely pace, after which you feel like you've actually HAD a break.
Other than that, we live a ten minute walk from a fantastic beach (I hardly see the kids during the school holidays now), so it's not all bad.
