    PC Chav.

That's right, my fizzles; we sit here, thinking that because we know what FTP stands for we are safe from the Burberry capped scummers who steal bottles of White Lightning from Tesco.

Its only a question of scale though, just because we don't think Argos is the place to buy 'boss gear', it doesn't mean we are safe from the culture of Chav.

So, what do we recon are the Chavlike things you might encounter, Hexus style?

I would like to nominate, firstly, over-modded cases, with crap zig-zaggy side windows, and over-the-top LED kits, fans and rounded cables, in that most favoured of PC Chavs colours - blue.

This is common, annoying, looks crap (but the people doing it think it looks great) and is every bit as much the PC Chavs trademark as a Burberry cap and a nobby car is for the real world Chav.

So, Over-modded Blue LED Infested cases.

    That's my nomination. Anyone else?

Blue rocks. It doesn't look tacky imho.

Now multicoloured neons and/or fans do. As does crappily-modded stuff. Well-done stuff looks great

Blue looks good, as does any other color, I'm on about the over-the-top blue cases. Blue cathodes, blue LED fans, blue lighting kits, blue cables. It all looks too busy and ends up looking poo.

Seems to be something about the color blue that makes people go over the top, and keep pilling the stuff in, until its a mess.

I would say the classic Chav accessory is a QTEC 550W power supply. It's GOLD

LOL, I wasn't trying to look like a bwad bwoy though, that was taken when I grew my beard for a while and then shaved it off in various stages for comedy effect. That was my take on the 'lets off road' guys from The Fast Show.

In fact my computer couldn't be more anti-bling. The case is a cheap crap one from ebuyer, it has a side window- or it would have, if the side was actually on the case, which it's not. My hard disk is just resting on the bottom of the case, because it only works when it's installed vertically. My DVD burner is just shoved in with no screws, every so often I have to reach inside the case to pull it forward again. Finally I have a fan resting on the bottom of the case, propped up on some loose wires, directing air at my 9500 which keeps overheating 'cos it's softmodded.

Life's too short to muck about making your computer look nice, what little time I get to spend on it without my wife moaning about me being a geek I spend playing Tribes 2.

    Rich :¬)

Nah, Chav PC isn't in the hardware, its the software....

They gotta have the latest set of Omegas for that extra .0000002% of performance, yet there's roughly half a gig of spyware and bots strolling around their machine...

"And it woz me dad 'oo put all vem porn dialin fings on it, innit?"

Oh, and desktop wallpaper of Blazin' Squad and a startup sound clip ripped from the chorus of 'Babycakes'.
