When I Was Just A Little Girl...

When I was just a little girl I asked my mother, what will I be? Will I be pretty? Will I be rich? Here's what she said to me...

I forget now, but it was something in French.

Anyway, point being, when I was little, I thought that the 'olden days', like Victorian days and probably up to the Second World War, actually were black and white. I can't remember when I realised that it was just before color film, but I do remember vividly thinking for a long time whilst little that this was the case.

So, I mentioned this before, maybe even on this forum, I forget, and other people said - 'OMFG mE 2!!1!11!', so I'll just ask; who when a little kid, thought that the olden days really were black and white?

I hope I remember correct and I'm not the only one - I'm sure I remember someone saying it was a common thing.

Oh, and remember, when asked 'D'you wanna be in my gang, my gang, my gang, D'you wanna be in my gang', the answer is not 'oh yeah!' as it once was, it is now a very firm 'No!'

I'm very glad - apparently, its quite common, and we were all as foolish in our youth, but until you ask, well... you never know if its just you, do you?

    How bout this:

Billy Connolly tells a funny tale about "Away in a Manger....no crib for a bed"

He thought it was the Scottish word for kid "a wain"

    "A Wain in a manger"

    suits it to be honest

    and.....Roming in the Gloaming....

he though a ROMAN was wandering around some place called Gloamin

    "A Roman in the Gloamin'"

I didn't think everything was black and white... but I used to have a Black and White TV - circa 1970s. I always thought that if there was something on the TV that was in Black and White - it'd turn into colour on the screen.

I never got the chance to test that theory though, as I never caught any black and white films
