    Accident

As I was getting ready for college this morning I noticed an unusual amount of cars driving down my road.

As I left for college I noticed a police car at the end of the road. "That must be the reason" I thought. Walked a bit further up to get a closer look and saw another car infront of the police car that had obviously crashed. Then I noticed what I think was someone lying on the road with people all around him

So I drove off to college taking a different route, feeling rather lousy as a result Didn't have music on or anything.

As I came home, the road was clear and the car in question was up on the pavement, with it's bonnet and bumper all dented in.

It really puts me in a foul mood when I hear about things like this happening, especially so close to home I feel really sorry for anyone involved. I hope nothing was fatal

Random thread I know, just needed somewhere to put my thoughts

Exactly. I'm always careful, and now it's made me think even more.

The same happened to me not all that long ago, except with a motorbike and a small truck. It turned out to be someone I vaguley knew. It does make you reflect.

Might I also suggest you make it a habit to drive with your (dipped!) headlights on at all times. Motorcyclists generally already do this, and it's a habit I've carried accross to driving in my car. Anything which helps you to be more visible to other road users is good, in my opinion.

another thing motorists don't often do is check in their mirrors enough, of use thier freakin' mobiles!! how many times have I almost be knocked off my bike by a gimp on their phone?!!! I often slap their windows to frighten them into dropping them into their lap/on the floor...usually makes them pull over and do the right thing. muppets.

Turn your foglights off. Turn your dipped headlights on. DON'T DRIVE ON JUST YOUR SIDELIGHTS!!!

I hate people who drive on just their sidelights. It's like they know that their lights should be on, but couldn't be arsed to put them fully on!

I think he meant sidelights during the day, I'm sure he wasn't recomending people to drive on sidelights at night or bad wether Having said that you get enough idiots that do it.
