Oi Student Doctors - in here now :)

Righty - need a bit of advice.

Just tried to make an appointment to see my doctor and was told earliest was now Tuesday NEXT week and my problem would probably clear up by then, but I was wondering if you could gimme any help.

The issue is for the last day or 2 my feet have been VERY tender and starting to swell , to the point now I've woke up this morning with a very horrible sensation in my feet that feels like I'm walking on thousands of sharp objects and the backs of my shins have very bad pins and needles with a bad burning sensation. Theres no rash or anything and I tend to change my footwear all the time so its not sweaty trainer syndrome

I would use the nhsdirect site - but what the issue is for some reason the content blocker here @ works blocking the site.

Any advice before I resort to chaining myself to a pipe and re-enacting the scene from "saw" as its getting to the point where the tingling is getting annoying

The std 'I haven't got a clue, call it a virus' answer, straight out of the clueless GP handbook.

Not that I in any way have studied this for more than 5 minutes, but:

Did you do anything to your leg/lower back? A knock or something like that?
Have you started any new medication recently?
    Do you have diabetes?

Does anything make it worse/better? Worse at any time of day/constant? Does it come and go? Can you stil feel your leg if you touch the affected area? Has it got worse since it started?

Not sure if Ill be able to help but may as well ask in case anything obvious jumps out at me

EDIT: Oh, and any other symptoms at all, whether they seem related or not? Headaches, thirst, peeing a lot, general fever, breathlessness etc etc?

try going to an NHS drop in centre, or, i dunno if u've got them in engerlarnd, but we've got them up here, emergency GP out of hours services at the local A&E dpts of hospitals. U just have to call up your GP and tell them you're going to the emergancy clinic and then toddle along and they'll see you.

if they have such a thing, they're quite good, cos they're run by proper GPs who can prescribe things, although the NHS drop in centres tend to only be run by nurses who cant prescribe anything.

Hope it clears up soon and it's nothing too serious.

Nah ... judging by the amount I drank on Monday - the BIOS is still corrupted and my eyes are not working in AMR mode at the moment

As for the drop-in centres - we don't really have that sort of thing unless its 3 am and you need some "emergency" contraception
