I'm assuming that everyone has heard of the person who called a helpdesk saying that wordperfect wasn't working and after troubleshooting for some time with the engineer the individual said they couldn't see behind the PC because it was dark due to the powercut they were experiencing at the time.

One girl came up to me asking how to set-up voice mail on her phone. I told her to hold down the number 1 key and it'll ring through to her voice mail from where she can set it all up. She does it, listens to the recorded message and asks "It's saying that I should press 2 to set-up my voice mail - should I press 2?".

That "should i press what the computer tells me to press" thing is very familiar. Another favourite is when an information window pops up with only the "ok" button on it. And they say - should i press ok? What else are you going to press?!!
