    Re: Dictator for a Day

Can you be a Dictator for a Day? by the very nature of dictatorship the only way it'd last for 1 day is if you where overthrown or assassinated.

    Ok I'm being pedantic.

1 all democratic governments to be replaced with random lotteries, fixed term length 10years

2 All companies to pay full tax by trade done within a country, any company trying to avoid tax shall have asserts seized by the country in question equal to twice the amount of tax avoided, the first asserts to be seized will be shares from board members.

3 Anyone trying to pass off, as there own, things or concepts that already exist by repackaging them and calling it innovation (yes I'm looking at Elon Musk here) shall be tarred, feathered and dipped in raw sewage for good measure.

4 any science reporter/correspondent has to know some science and apply basic scientific thinking to ALL articles. If they just repeat marketing or hype without any form of basic critical thinking then they are automatically volunteered for taking part in well published experiments to disprove pseudo science. (such as the homeopathic curative ability vs plague or gunshot wounds)

Ban all cyclists and farm traffic on single carriageway roads during the hours of 0700-0900 and 1700-1900.

On a similar note, all pensioners and other unemployed benefit claimants are banned from shops at weekends. You've got all week ffs.

On this note, force companies to pay proper wages so that the second largest payouts of benefits (after pensions) are not to those with actual jobs.

Don't agree with banning the unemployed from weekend shopping though, they're busy applying for jobs all week (i remember being unemplyloyed, it was more stressful and felt busier than being at work).

Can I just add to this:

Any cyclist caught using the road when there is a perfectly good cycle track, at large cost, a few yards to the side of the road, gets smacked in the face with a wet mackerel. At least 50 times.

Obviously you can't, hence the original note:

Windows is not allowed to pop up a window or otherwise interfere with user input when I have typed or used the mouse within the past second. I am so fed up of being halfway through a window drag, or typing and something jumps in and takes the input for itself.

the managers for southern rail are buried in a bunker, with food delivered by a model railway. Sadly though we'll neglect to employ enough staff to run it properly, and instead just play automated messages about "temporary shortage of staff" "sorry for the inconvenience" etc etc

Planet earth forced to clean up its oceans, particularly of plastic, before any more attention is given to space developments. And if that isn't incentive enough, then I'll ban TV privileges or something. Tidy up your room!

And people who throw litter on the floor - for every infraction they will be required to pick up litter for a day using only their teeth

Here's my twist on an old idea, Replacement of steering wheel airbags, with giant spikes.
When you're faced (literally) with a giant spike that will impact your face if you don't drive with extreme care, then a lot more people will drive a lot more carefully.
To this I add a simple thing that the higher over the speed limit you go the closer the spike gets to your face.

Yes there will be people who see this as a challenge to drive as fast as possible, however they will soon weed themselves out of the gene pool.

This will also lead to what has triggered Andehh's post, you'll get people who are over-cautious, who won't go above 5mph.
