Load of people (presumably male) on other forums are absolutely erupting over this and getting all offended over the 'woke' 'wahmen', complaining about feminists, and all that.
Advert just looks like an example of good parenting, to me...
This is just another shot at men. No way a similarly stereotypical advert about any other gender would fly like this. Also, doubt it's about good parenting. If you haven't done it 'right' before, you won't change your ways after seeing this. It'll just leave the normal blokes feeling betrayed.
Is this a protest against the shaving tax?
Shaving tax?
Then some could argue that those who need more and consume more hygienic products, should have it tax free as it impacts them more than others (those who use less).
Not arguing that some men have it easier. I, for example, use absolute miniscule of products and only trim my facial hair. On the other hand there are men at my workplace who's monthly bills spent on grooming dwars most women's.
First point: The Gillette video is brilliant, really well narrated and put together. There is a real issue in some people's minds as to how men behave and we could definitely do with having a rethink sometimes.
Second point: I don't think taxing female sanitary products is fair. Let's be honest, men can go a few days without shaving and it's not the end of the world. If a woman goes a few days without using any kind of "protection", there's going to be consequences.
I don't see how they're a choice, to be honest. Women don't choose to have a period.

And it was featured on my local BBC radio station today.
Personally, I was rather glad to hear them discussing it. If they hadn't, they'd probably have been discussing blasted Bre ..... Bre ... can't even bring myself to say it .... what MPs are currently twisting their boxers (and equivalent for genders non-boxer-specific) about. Which might have made my teeth bleed.
As for the advert - by one school of advertising logic. it's already a huge success. After all, its got people tslkjng about Gilette on a scale nothjng much else has.
Me? Yawn, ho-hum. Wotever.
Neither me, nor my partner fully agree with that. Most women use contraception. And the long term contraception options (coil or injection) carry the possibility of un/wanted side effects of having no monthly bleeding. Basically all women who use long term options 'suffer' or 'enjoy' this blessing/curse in our social circle. Which is from any point of view, a choice.
And while you're bringing up the matter of "few days without using any kind of protection", so called free-bleeding practices are getting quite common. Once again, a choice. Not like I support those practices, but I certainly won't take away the choice of the individuals who've decided to make it a public matter.
On the video, I agree with the portrayals of teaching the younger generation, what I disagree with is the notion of toxic masculinity. Generally speaking, the sort of values shown would be classic values of fatherhood, and perhaps a concept of being a good and honourable man. Notions and an era that would be deemed to be entrenched in 'the patriarchy'. And yet commonly associated with the notion of toxic masculinity is the idea that the 'patriarchy' is evil.
Maybe it's all semantics but I'm getting pretty fed up of people switching terms around and then making the same point.
You want to change men's behaviour? Pouring derision onto them isn't going to be the way to do it.
No such thing as toxic masculinity. Just bad behaviour.
No trees were harmed in the creation of this message. However, many electrons were displaced and terribly inconvenienced.
Thinks I’m glad I have an ad blocker and rarely watch TV that is funded by ads. Makes the whole licence fee worthwhile.
