It totally depends what he wants done, but £100 is cheap for any website.
£150 sound better?
Are they just static pages? Does it include updating it?
5 pages, including domain for 5 years and a years hoting for me would break down as....(mates rates)
5 Pages £250
5 years Domain (at cost) £23
a years hosting (special as the sites designed by moi) £27
Purely to make it a round £300, standard rates that would probably come in at £500 all in.

I'd say £300 is about right if you include hosting & domain, provided no major PHP/JS coding is required.

What about for a flash site with ActonScripting but nothing too clever? i.e. One that looks nice and flashy, but isn't linked to a database etc.

I think I will have a word with him then, he keeps hinting me that he cant spend a lot of money on it, and keeps saying make it really simple....

I just did a website which took a couple of days. The guy paid two of us £50 each. We were happy with that, it was only a couple of days worth of work
I made a simple website for someone a few years back and got paid £50. Not bad for a few hours work for a coupla days, and I was only like 13 then.

He wants static pages, It shouldnt take me too long, its mostly the graphics and coming up with a nice design that will take up most of my time.
I just let the clients choose. My kind of current client pays me about £20 an hour which is a big chunk of money for me. It all depends when i do the work though
Charged a m8 £20 just for uploading and configuring a php site but he hasn't done anything with it since, keeps hinting at me to update it for him but I've got to that point where my good nature has been taken far far too much for granted in the past.
Even if it's mates or not I now charge peeps £20 just to look at their damned pc.
Amazing once you start charging people they stop annoying you with the slightest pc hicup.
Still if they don't like the charge there's always pc world
