    Dreams

Well i was having a discussion with my flat mates about dreams the other day and we were interested to see what kind of dreams everyone gets and how it's involved in their lives.

A weird one i get is when i'm about to get ill, it's a recurring dream. Literally when i wake up i'll be ill, the illness can vary. The dream is me, zoomed out from a very large area and something is moving very slowly in one direction from one side of the large area to the other. It's a very small object and i can never make out anything. It's a plain dream, no colour, no shape, no light, just something you can't make out.

I've also had a few lucid dreams where i'm fully aware that i'm dreaming and can control the dream, that was amazing from what i can remember.

I've also had dreams which i can't escape from, i'm perfectly aware it's a dream but soon becomes a nightmare and then i can't escape from it.

There's a pretty decent website on different kinds of dreams here http://www.dreamsleep.net/

It's pretty interesting reading their interpretations on them and the different kinds of dreams people have.

Anyone else got any dream experiences?

I havent had a dream that I remember in ages. Used to have them quite a lot but nothing for the last few months which is strange.

I think erowid have a section dedicated to lucid dreams, theories, facts and how to possibly invoke one.

    ....

    Yep, they do.

    http://www.erowid.org/spirit/dreaming/dreaming.shtml

You can experience some crazy dreams if you go to bed with a full bladder. This is one of the methods of invoking lucid dreams, but I never managed to get myself into that state through this method, unfortunately. Of course... you'll wake up in the middle of the night needing peepee.

Yeah - I dream allsorts, I record my dreams in a book as I'm slowly training myself to be able to stimulate lucid dreaming (and then learn eventually how to keep it going for longer). Normally my dreams tend to represent what I'm feeling deep down about a given situation - although sometimes they are freaky and I can't see any connection ... although aparently there always is one.

I had a dream last night that took me back to my very first job, silver service waitressing, except all the staff (except the supervisor) were from my most recent job. Anyways, we were going out into the room with jugs of gravy and just at the door in, someone had left a whole pile of chairs just randomly piled up and my foot got stuck between them. So i was trying to free my foot and get out onto the floor with this jug of hot gravy and my supervisor's starting to REALLY get on my nerves, shouting at me to hurry up, so i turn to him and yell "MY F***ING FOOT IS STUCK! NOW SHUT UP BEFORE I POUR THIS GRAVY OVER YOU!" yet he still kept on.... so i did it i poured the, now lukewarm, gravy over his head. i suddenly came out of my rage and went rushing over and he goes "DONT EVEN *THINK* ABOUT SAYING YOU'RE SORRY!!" to which i said "oh dont worry, i wasnt going to, i meant it. Oh and i quit" walked out and went home. Then on the way home all the bridges in glasgow seemed to crumble and the streets were deserted all apart from me and like 3 kids. Tres strange! But then i have VERY odd dreams!

oh yeah, i dreamt that at about 8am this morning, after my bf had gone to work and i had gone back to sleep

I also tend to have really weird dreams when i'm dehydrated after a night out or just not drinking enough before bed!

    as you do

I've dreamt about games and hardware. I dreamt that i was made up of hardware once and that i needed an upgrade here and there which was weird. That's when i realised i was on computer too much

I also had a dream where i got stuck in england, that was a scary dream. I had that dream when i wasn't at uni though so i'd hardly ever been to england. I think that was the dream to notify me that i was scared of england and i knew that i had to move there soon

I've had many falling dreams, but you always wake up before you hit the bottom, unless you fall into a lucid dream and just before you hit the bottom you just fly away

Oh, i used to have dreams where i was awake, in bed, surrounded by silence, then i would suddenly become a spider making its painfully slow way from one cornerof the room to another, all the while watching myself.
    Creepy.

I have loads of weird dreams, but most I cant remember unless I write them down

I used to have a recurring dream when I was a kid but I cant remember what, it involves a ZX Spectrum and something very big, to this day I wonder daily about what the hell it was or meant.

I once had a recurring dream about having to change the windscreen of a sierra xr4 while on the run from an 80 foot robot, weird thing was the windscreen was never even broken.

I've also dreamt about having to track down my entire Computing class for sheep russling in ye olde wild west, mind controlling slugs that moved so stupidly slowly you could never catch them. A skeleton that followed me into elevators and farted excessively, going to work and having clint eastwood as an area manager oh and the obvious sex dreams that occaisionally end up being quite strange as their the only dreams where I don't have any kinda control over myself in them.

How weird - I was just looking on dream websites today after speaking to some mates about the naked dream the other day.

I just have the one recurring and really very disturbing dream where I lose one or both of my eyes in an unfortunate accident involving a horribly spiked instrument of some sort. And no, i'm not joking.
To err is human. To really foul things up ... you need a computer.
