Good going dude. It's definitely the way to reach a higher level and understanding. When you've got some grounding in that, have a crack at some 1930s-50s jazz.

Anyway, My all time favourite bands =

    Metallica (legends tbh)
    Slayer
    Pantera
    Machine Head
    AC/DC
    Led Zepplin
    Guns n Roses
    Pink Floyd
    Iron Maiden
    The Who
    Rage Against The Machine
    System Of A Down
    Motorhead
    Chimera

Favourite Bands ATM (these change far more often than the first list) =

    Mehshuggah
    Arch Enemy
    D.R.I
    Dry Kill Logic
    Velvet Revolver
    Alter Bridge
    Breed77
    The Haunted
    Dillinger Escape Plan
    Nile
    Opeth

^^^^^^ Well pretty much most of that!

Adding Disturbd, 36 Crazyfists, In Flames, Tool, Isis, U2, RHCP, and of course the older Offspring stuff.

I''ve also noticed I have been playing Shadows Fall, and All That Remains, quite a lot as well!

Though more importantly, my all time favourite has to be Killswitch Engage!

    Rock on people!

Jazz is still something that escapes me, i can play the notes but I just havn't got a "feel" for that kinda music yet, metal/punk/rock i'm fine with but proper jazz still trips me up unfortunatly

Get a hat with a brim of some sort. Always helps. I can't play jazz without my bowler:

Not really... but it makes me look cool IRL.

I agree wholeheartedly - apart from the French Impressionist era, sp. tone poem music. Man that stuff is boring

Gotta agree on The Killers actually, they are fantastic, been listening to their album constantly for the last week or so.
