I thought the minimum width of a WALLPAPER had to be 1920px?! Is it me or are people only posting small wallpapers or just their desktops? C'mon peeps, you have to respect mike's thread!

to be fair, knox's looks like just a photo, so if it's not already 1920px then it would look really crap if it was made to be that size. On the other hand, all us posting desktops smaller than the "required" size could quite easily just not post and the thread would have about 3 replies.

    - That is why the high res images are thumbnailed to 800px width, I know it is a pain, takes time linking them in but sharing is caring

This is a thread for HIGH RES wallpapers...why? Cause there are TONS of threads with wallpapers for the masses that live @ whatever regular resolution (under 1900px width anyways!)...

Would be nice if a mod could rename the thread to Post Your Widescreen Wallpaper (1920px min width) - *56K!*...

If you have a VERY nice wallpaper but it doesn't meet the requirements of this thread please go post in the other threads in this great forum

Sorry for being harsh, but um what else would the be the point of this thread?

Knoxville: Nice, I must say that is probably one of the very very few times I have seen text actually enhancing the subject matter... do you mind emailing it to me pls? mike@bsodmike.com - Want to give it a proper look in photoshop, thanks!

    KeZ: Thanks

...Need to go see if I have any more decent high-res ones

XA04 - Which part of 'make an 800px thumbnail and link to' did you not understand?

For those of you that can't use the forums properly:

    Code:
    (url=)(img)(/img)(/url)
    - make all brackets () into square brakets []

The URL (link) for the BIG 1920px min image goes after the '=' sign and the URL (with http://) goes in between the img tags...

On a different note, Tarffie is probably one of the very few that have understood the purpose of this thread and that is an excellent image, THANKS!

    Elmo,

I think you are missing the point. If the natural resolution of your wallpaper is below 1920px (min width) pls do not post in this thread. There isn't much point in you making an 800px thumbnail and then bloating it up 'insert your fav graphic editor here' so that it looks like pixels - Now don't get me wrong, this is how I understand your reply. If I am completely loosing it, pls forgive me

I for one would like the existance of a 'widescreen very high resolution' wallpaper thread - too many regular (sub 1600px width) threads exist in many many...countless forums...

well i suppose i just dont see the point in this thread when there's already a desktop thread doing the rounds. You could quite easily post your mega huge pictures there rather than rant and rave at people who dont quite cut your standards of posting.

If there's so many other desktop threads on so many other forums, why add to them with another unnecessary one?

    just my POV i suppose.

No no, i have to agree with you.

I mean even my desktop is large (1600x1200), but thats not big enough for this thread, so i used photoshop to help "enlarge" my desktop to 7000 width or so from 1024..

There is plently of other threads to do this sort of thing, but i guess it makes him feel special to have his own thread
