That's the same thing I'm doing... It's useless, they teach you all the things you never need to use in Word. And marked me down for using a shortcut!!

I did ECDL subsidised at Uni to fill me ICT skills out on my CV. The ECDL exams were 40minutes long but the required you to take a 30minute "trial" exam to make sure you were up for the proper exam before you could book the proper exam. Each exam I think was around £15... so in order to complete you had to do I think
7*30mins trial exam = 210
7*40mins real exam = 280
Total 490mins
and that excluding any teaching!
Needless to say I argued with the instructor and said I wasn't prepared to waste time doing trial exams, they weren't to happy.
I booked papers 1-4 for one week and 5-7 for the next week, finished the whole lot in just over 140mins. They were pretty surprised picked up 3 100%'s and the marks I lost were on silly mistakes their systems couldn't cope with.
But honestly the most daft course in the world, I had never used access but got 80% just using standard windows knoweldge without evening learning/using access.
ahhhh ECDL i got that for free when i was in 6th form - was a real nuisance.
alltho it was useful at my uni interview and probably helped get my place as i hadn't got an ict A 'level like a lot of applicants and i needed at least something to prove my worth...
i wouldnt wanna pay for it tho
/edit/ going back to someone's comment about getting QTS (qualified teacher status) im actually worried about passing the ICT test because they dont give you office and a load of tasks to do. Its a simulated environment and its awful, no keyboard shortcuts and really crappy!! its like nothing else anyone has used before - and you have to pass this test to become a teacher

You poor sod. Having a teacher that is brainless is so frustrating. You should have got an extra mark for showing initiative and a higher skill than required.Originally Posted by Yohji

Hehe print this off and show them

Quite a few to read here (so haven't) but all we have done is bloody ECDL!!! And Clait before that!
Have I learnt anything? No. Is the latest version in date? No. Are you allowed to use keyboard shortcuts on most of it? No.
Now one of the teachers think I'm going to destroy the network!
It's a piece of p*** BBP, don't worry about it.Originally Posted by BroadbandPlacey
No, you can't use shortcuts but just use the menus and follow the instructions, you'd have to be asleep to fail it.
ps - hello! normally see you in the 'other' place!
I didn't in the whole two years in ICT GCSE, came out with an easy A* thoughOriginally Posted by XA04

I'm not allowed to do any ICT acording to my college, becuase I do computing and there the same.
*bangs head on table*
I mean there not even in the same department... Its painful!
So hows that project in Word going Dan? I hear it's a tough one..Originally Posted by Trippledence
