    Finally

    Got a proper office chair...

However its one of the ones from my dads office and as such stinks like a 40 a day smoker..

So, whats the best way to get the stench out of a leather chair?

Unfortunately the only way to do it is to use something like a Vax that will suck the crud and nicotine out. If you use Febreeze etc you're only temporarily masking the stink, it'll come back the next day.

You can handwash it with carpet cleaner but it's nowhere near as effective because unless you do it a dozen times and take it outside and hose it down you're only 'squishing' the nicotine around.

Speaking from experience here as I've brought home a couple of swish chairs that have had the very same problem.

Go to a car valet place and ask them... I'm sure they'll have had experience of getting nasty smoky smells out of executive leather upholstery

I'm never going to my Vauxhall dealer again, after wanting to charge me £84+ VAT for a dizzy cap, selling me the wrong bolts for my gear linkage, putting 13 miles on my car when it went in for a sticky handbrake (which they charged me for stripping down the rear brakes and cleaning them and it not fixing the problem, which turned out to be a frayed handbrake cable about 6" away from the rear drum assembly, easily noticable with the car in the air), moving both seats, retuning all my radio presets, changing a cambelt which then snapped less than a year later, changing a set of brake pads and disks for the pads on the passengerside to wear in 3 months due to incorrect fitting and me seeing 2 of the mechanic plebs arsing around the carpark in customers cars.

    Think that about covers it...
