Remember - 2 Minute Silence at 12pm Today.

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/4679681.stm

Millions of people across Europe are to join Londoners in a two-minute silence, a week after the bombings that killed at least 52 and injured 700.
London buses and cabs will stop; Tube trains will still run but the silence, at 1200 BST, will be announced.

Unfortunately thats true, with all the influx of information we have been receiving over the last week I haven't managed to process it all.

We held a 2 minutes silence at the council offices here last week but obviously we will respect this one aswell.

maybe front page should be edited to say that forums will be closed for a few minutes - rather than totally closed
i'll even be turning off my phone.

Yeah, nice touch lads closing the forums.

Even Sarge just looked out the window, completely silent... mind you, he loves doing that in the sun.

Watched the 2 minute silence on the TV. Was actually quite moving. Having people go outside to show their respect was a good idea.

Im in central london - and we all went out of te buildin to line the streets for the silence

    office workers went out
    building workers were out
cars and vans stopped and got out
    all construction work stopped.

everything stopped and everyone shut up

    was very moving

Am I alone in seeing this as a little pointless? If we held a 2 minute silence for all of the terrible things that happen around the globe, we wouldn't get a chance to speak.

it wasn't the silence so much , but the showing of unity that is important in demonstrating that you can't beat london that easily.

Having been very close to whats going on and knowing some people who have been seriously affected by this i feel it was a sign of respect and a group showing of unity.

But im sure the families of those that have lost people are going to be happy to ehar that some people view spending two minutes of their life to remember those who were lost on our own doorstop, a waste of time.

I consider myself a part of a wider group, and the fact that it has happened in England has not made me more empathic to those who are affected then if it happened on the other side of the world. I can very well remember those who have died, without observing two minutes of silence. I have spent far more than 2 minutes thinking about it over the course of the past week.

It shames me I have to pussy foot around my own thoughts on the topic due to having the guilt enforced upon me, as you have just attempted to do sir.
