The manufacturer of microChips Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) has sent his microprocessors of double nucleus, days after his Intel rival did.
Unlike Intel, that directs those processors towards the users of desktop computers, new ' the Opteron' of AMD is designed for the servants, according to informs EFE.
The company with seat in Sunnyvale (Californian) has presented/displayed the three first ' Opteron' of double nucleus -- basically two "brains" in an only microprocessor -- and glides to both send other three in next months.
Hewlett-Packard and IBM are between the computer science manufacturers that they will include these Chips in his servants. According to it has assured Horseradish tree Williams, one of the vice-presidents of the company, a ' Opteron' of double nucleus will exceed the capacity of the previous version, for the same speed of work, in between a 40% and a 70%.
Several manufacturers, between whom is Dell, sent the first computers that use processors of double nucleus made by Intel. These systems are based on the processor ' Pentium Extreme Edition 840', equipped with two twin nuclei that operate to 3.2 GHZ.
The equipped desktop computers with the new microprocessor cost from 2,300 dollars -- 1,796 euros -- and are destined to the enthusiastic users multimedia and of the videojuegos, as well as to professionals of areas that require great computer power, like the video edition.
