deffent no to a bb gun, i used to have two cats , one of then did get a bb round in the eye, we only found this out because her eye swelled up and had to take her to the vets, so no,

curiosity killed the cat elspuddy, you need to teach it not to come back, easyest way, re-enforcement learning, do something so it asosiates your house, with nasty.

I like the old fly zappers u can buy, they make awsome things to leave under windows which a cat might come in via, remove the UV light tubes, they'll asociate the shock, with ur place, and stay out even when its no longer there.

But is it actually illegal to kill someone elses cat when its in your house as long as you do it humainly?

Put copper wire on the top of the wall he vaults over and wire it up to a car battery or mains, he grabs the wall to jump over and gets a rather nasty shock.

Use very fine wire so it cant be seen without a good look first, make sure though that you put the wire on the innerside top of youre wall as if its on the outside of it you can get wrong, inside though and you are fine as you are protecting youre property.

Or you could put a chicken wire mesh down on the lawn and do the same, they wont be back after that one.

ferral, its all about having a highish frequncy and very high voltage (but low current, else smoking death arrives.... smells awful)

The idea is that you put the phase on the wire (the Red wire if you will) and have the ground as, ground. That way the circuit is completed by mr moggie touching the wire + ground.

so if your using mains voltage you really want to increase the frequency for best effect, but a simple set up transformer is all you really need. Mains voltage peek to peek is 320, so you want take that to about 10,000 so a transformer ratio of about 30 is needed. (that means 30 turns on the zapping side, for everyone 1 on the mains voltage side). But using mains is quite liable to just make things get hot. A simple PP3 (9volt, type found in smoke detectors) i find make good enjoyment zappers, as they have enough kick for fun.
