No, but the chances are there are in 90% of cases. I sold a phone on eBay to a guy that wanted it send to Nigeria and it was a complete scam (a very poor scam at that too). There seems to be a bit of a thing going on with Nigeria.

Give us a link to the sale if you can mate. What payment options did you actually list and did you offer international postage? But i would probaly offer it to the next lowest bidder.

I still like p-p-p-p-powerbook. That was an entertaining scam of the scammers :- )

Send him a brick - go on, insist he pays via royal mail and send him a good, solid, english manufactured clay brick.

Since Nigeria is a country not a race, that would be stupid people then.

This reminds me of a scam type thing that happened to me. I got one of those emails that say "There is X amount of money in X Account, if you help me get it we can share the money" I had so many of these dam emails. Then one day I got a phone call from a bloke, it turned out to be the bloke that emailed me about this thing - he wanted me to get a plane to nigeria, I kept asking him loads of questions then just hung up. I have no idea how he got my phone number but it was pretty scary that he knew it!

Have any of you guys had this? If i did go (he offered to pay flights) would i have been kidnapped or something?

I get about 10 of these emails A DAY and I would have expected yahoo to have done something about these emails (instead of saying suspected SPAM which it does to every email I get from most shops and friends etc.) However I have not got any phone calls only annoying ones at 6 or 7 am in the morning from a call centre (most likely India due to the publicity) asking whether I want new double glazing windows / cheaper utility bills etc.

i think the underlying message to all of this is; don't sell a phone on ebay?
how many versions of ebay are there? there's ebay.co.uk for UK, .com for US...can you imagine the nigerian ebay? must be making such a loss the money made from the other versions have to help it out!
