Damn, you make it sound like you're an automated response

I don't see why online sales are limited to the 'mainland' only, I know quite a few people who haven't ordered from online companies due to the websites not taking VAT off. Most companies usually have crazy shipping costs for the CI.

rofl - I have to say my biggest issue with DHL is the distribution centres. The same distribution centre for DHL that services Norwich also services Southend. Both places have to wait until 13:00 for a delivery (even first stop it seems)

After holding for twenty minutes on citylinks help line, they stuck me through to the driver who promised he'd be there @ 11:15. At 11:18 he turned up. Not sure why he had his wife in the van too...

Its not all bad news for the channel islands.
Amazon have got it as part of your system, if your address is in the channel islands they take off VAT *and* you can still get the free delivery over £19.
THats why I like amazon.
And obviously its still free delivery from people like play.com

Can i set my billing address to channel islands to loss the VAT, but then have the delivery address at my uni house, and take it home with me? (because otherwise the shipping costs are going to kill me).

Also in my experience DHL are pretty good.

I'm not sure on this ... but i think its possible to reclaim the vat if you take it to CI - but have it delivered in the UK.... but please forgive me if i'm wrong on this...
