PowerColor Radeon X850 Pro 256MiB - Winner announcement

This HEXUS.winners win4FREE competition was brought to you by

one of the UK's honourable retailers

    &

a leading manufacturer of ATi Technologies' GPU based 3D graphics accelerators

Up for grabs from HEXUS - MicroDirect - & -PowerColor was an ATi Radeon X850 Pro based PowerColor Radeon X850 Pro 256MiB PCIe 3D graphics accelerator!

This card was new from the retailer, but was also the very card that was reviewed by HEXUS.net!

    Read the full HEXUS.review.

We asked you to state why, in 10 words you deserved to win this graphics card and we had over 170 entries, all of a varying standard! ( )

    And the winner is.....
Now with the problems with the last competition we had to let this one run its course before we introduced a new competition format, therefore we had to select the winner ourselves.

We brought in the assistance of a party completely outside of HEXUS (so outside she freely admits technology is confusing ) Basically what we did was create an excel spread sheet and then alphabetised the list and asked for some numbers....she did not see the list at ANY point.

Want to know how it was calculated?
Firstly she was asked for a number between 1 and 171, which was 14, which was then times'd by a number between 1 and 10, in this case 5, so we were at position 70, then we asked for a number between 1 and 5, which was 2 and then asked for a divide/multiply/subtract or add, and was told to divide it, therefore position 35 walks away with the prize!

And position 35 was filled with windog's entry, because I like the picture, so I can wallmount it! so would windog please contact me via PM with address and name details and i will arrange to get the card sent out to you as soon as I can!

If were not lucky enough to win this HEXUS.winners win4FREE competition, then you can purchase your own PowerColor Radeon X850 Pro 256MiB PCIe 3D graphics accelerator from Microdirect.

Look out for the totally new HEXUS competition system coming soon with even more top quality kit up for grabs, totally free, to you, the HEXUS.community.

    Thanks Matt.

    Woot! I won something!

But can I also have a note from hexus explaining to my wife why, having just upgraded from an NF-7/XP2500, to a Neo2/A64-3000,(and snuck in a nice shiny new Aurora3D case) I now have to buy a new motherboard to run the gfx card!

Congrats on the win mate. What you want to do is flog the stuff you're upgrading from on the for sale forum before you buy the upgrade kit, and get your buyers to pay by bank transfer- that way the money's only gone for a couple of days at most and you can just lie about it being a bank cockup when the statement comes in.

Nope, turned out to be easy, The missus has gone to Amsterdam for the weekend with 4 of her nursey mates, (god help Amsterdam!) so no justification necessary!
