    Google advertising.

Mod's, i'm not sure where this post should go so please move it if you need to.

I'm thinking about putting some money into google ad words and wanted to know if anyone has had any experience with this scheme before? The clients I talk to everyday tell me that it generates more response than anything magazine based so I am curious to try it for my site.

If I'm looking to buy something I'll sometime type it in to google and then go with the sponsored links it throws up. The best example of this was when I was at my wits end trying to find bags for my hoover- bunged the model number into google, and it came up with two ads. One wanted £5, the other £6.50- so I coughed up the fiver, and two days later 5 bags dropped though my letterbox. As Harry Enfield said: "everyone's 'appy".

I would say that if you're selling in a market where there's some demand but not a great deal of competition, then google would be a great way of drumming up business. If you're trying to sell into a saturated market though (for, I dunno, webhosting, ringtones, spyware) then it'll probably not be worth your while.

Sorry if that was stating the obvious.
