Why do you get IQ tested? In the US, a person is usually tested if a teacher thinks he is a retard. Average or above average people are rarely tested.

people are rarely tested here as well, certainly not decent ones. It goes to back up my previous comment saying that people are being economical with the truth

I was tested out of feer of been retarted, my dislexia is so immense that i qualify as a retard, yet i score so high on some testing methods (IQ, Pattern, Cogative) that i am also super genious.

basically the government gives me money for been dumb, and i got a £10 book certificate for been smart.

147 is, to be fair, bollox. you may have got that on a test, but something like less than 0.001% of the population get over 130

IQ is easier to measure when your young as its a better measure of your intelligence rather than what knowledge you've picked up while going through life

And yeah, I do mention it everytime someone asks what my IQ is

Thats why I was tested, I never used to do any work at school and the busy body of a headteacher booked me sessions with a physciatrist because she thought I mught have ADD or below average intelligence, turns out i'm just lazy.

Above average children have it done too, my 10 year old had his IQ tested by his teacher a year ago.

Baseline assessment tests showed that Luke had the IQ of an average 12 year old,and so as a result he gets to do work which is within his development level
he was given year 6 SAT's papers last year (instead of year 4 ) and he managed to aquire levels of 4 and 4A's ( 4 is average 4A is above ) i feel lucky that he's given challenges because more often than not the bright ones are left to get on with things

Dunno where he gets it from though, i'm a right thicko me

Why, there aren't ment to be 10,000 people as smart as me in the whole of the UK (at just one very small part of what consitutes intelegence). But i also have a crippling short term memory (i'm incredibly bad with names, even my own).

The whole IQ scale is a bunch of t**t, purely because of people like me, i don't do equally well at all things. I can score full marks in a test, yet fail miserably too. Also i belive that its ment to be 160 means your 0.1% so i think your a little bit out by saying there are only 60,000 people in the UK who are over 130, but then again it depends who's IQ scale your on.

i put down 70 to make the other two idiots feel less stupid

I don't really know though, Intelligence..is a debatable term. There are different kinds of intelligence, and I don't really think any IQ test can count for much tbh.

edit: and a huge surprise was the one I recieved when I noticed that the most popular IQ picked was 140+, I am shocked amazed and bowled over. Maybe we should start Hexus.Mensa?
